Apr 14th 2008 5:29PM I was hacked several months ago on an alt account, where they proceeded to wipe out my tailoring/enchanting (amongst other things).
I contacted Blizzard as soon as it happened (I was on my main when my alts started logging in), and had a rough idea what was on the characters. That was a Friday. My characters were restored by Monday, with all items. I think a lot of of the speediness in my receiving my stuff back had to do with me having a window as to when it happened. When I petitioned a GM, I said "I got hacked 10 minutes ago." All they would have to do is go through the logs to figure it out. Put that up against someone who plays once a week, or a couple hours and then logs--there's a lot of "lost" time that can appear--and if you put in a ticket and say "I got hacked in the past 3 days" they have to sit down and go through all that data.
Apr 8th 2008 2:02PM Why I didn't think of something like that for my husband's Groom's cake I will never know (and we were playing WoW at that time then too...so no excuse why i didn't think of doing something like that)...
Hmm...he's got a b'day in a month...I guess I can call a bakery and see what they can do (I don't do cakes, lol)
Apr 7th 2008 9:30AM Usually for me, if it's red, it's dead. That's how it was leveling to 70 for me. If I'm running a lowbie around, the alliance usually take 1 look and run in the opposite direction. This usually works in my favor in STV. There are the occasions when I get attacked by another 70 with all PvP gear on...and that's when I call for backup from our guild PvPers. I'm sure we've pissed off many an alliance on the Isle of Quel'Danas--from what I've been told we usually have a group of 5-8 there each night farming honor on the alliance. Also works in our favor because the alliance see the guild name, know that we aren't a scrub guild (I rank how worthwhile it is to kill someone based on their guild title--if they are in a guild above us on WoW Jutsu, then may the best toon win, if they aren't above us, they probably have like 6 members or PvP primarily--which I'm not interested in), and usually keep their distance. I've had one of the main ganking alliance guilds step away from ganking me after they killed 2 people around me. I know the primary guilds on my server to watch out for--plus it gives you more bragging rights if you say "I killed soandso in fillintheblank guild."
Now last week, I was bored in STV keeping an eye on my husband's alt while he quested (there's nothing fearful about a holy pally, no matter how great his gear is), so I picked off a couple alliance who were over near his mobs (didn't realize concussive shot would take out so many alliance, lol). And then I steamrolled a lvl 59 pally who was fishing outside of Grom'Gol (why would you fish RIGHT OUTSIDE a Horde base?!?!).
Unless I've got a group tho, I'm probably not a primary PvPer--but I always abide by the 'Red is Dead' theory :)
Apr 1st 2008 10:21AM "AOL, the company that owns the Weblogs, Inc. network of blogs, of which WoW Insider is a part, has determined that instead of covering World of Warcraft every day, we will now be covering a new, surely more exciting and surely soon to be more popular massively multiplayer online game."
While I realize that this is a joke, I must say that being a former AOL employee, something like your statement would NOT surprise me ;)
Apr 1st 2008 10:00AM Most of my names are a random generator or a tweaking of a randomly generated name. BUT...every name has to have a decent "short" version--otherwise I won't bother. For example, my main is Mirina, shortened to Mir. My alts are shortened to Kii, or something of the sort. I only have 2 toons that their names aren't actually shortened.
Mar 29th 2008 7:14PM My guild had a loot issue in Hyjal on Tuesday. Yesterday the person who was supposed to receive the loot linked his received item in guild chat. Blizzard was really quick at responding to my petition in game, support was EXCELLENT, and my guildie got his loot. Makes being an ML much better :)
Mar 27th 2008 9:47AM I will say that the Heroic was a butt-kicker...at least boss #2. The entire party was SSC/TK geared and we were dropping like flies on the 2nd boss fight on Heroic. The orbs were a PITA, even when we spread out in a circle around the boss, and you could barely get a hit off on them before they became untargetable.
Also, is the first boss (on both modes), supposed to "explode" even if you kill the crystal before he can drain it? Every time, even with the crystal destroyed before he finished a drain, he did his explosions.
Can't wait for the 5v5 boss...whenever we decide to go back in on Heroic...we didn't see any difference in the trash (and we didn't do much CC in our group--the 5v5 boss we just mowed through the adds)--only in the bosses (especially boss #2).
I just want the mount and the pet =P
Mar 27th 2008 9:43AM We found that if you die on the Kael fight, and run back in, he'll teleport you back into his room to continue fighting. Our lock and tank were able to do it (the spriest and I just chilled dead on the floor).
We also discovered that if we zoned out for 45 mins (we had a raid to try to set) and returned after killing the first 2 bosses on Heroic, we were unable to get past Boss #1s room due to a barrier that is up while you're trying to kill him. So we never finished...
Mar 26th 2008 9:12AM We put together a Magister's Terrace group while sitting in vent waiting for our realm to come up (Bloodscalp). Once it came up, everyone took off for Quel'Danas, and I was trying to rebuild my UI (I do this a lot). I ended up shelving everything I was working on, copying my old UI folders over, and getting summoned out. We were doing really well in the 5-man, got to Kael, and got him down to 50% (I was actually kiting something! WTB our pally tank to kite the phoenixes!) before the Instance Servers crashed >< Took us about 30 minutes to get back into the game, just in time for raid invites.
Went and killed Rage Winterchill, picked up some gem cutting recipes. Did my fishing daily, cut some gems for people.
Best thing hands down was the warlocks being able to SUMMON in instances!
Mar 25th 2008 11:41AM And I shall not be the one to test this in tonight's raid (if we can manage one--you all know how patch days go)--I'll leave that to some "other hunter" ;)
