Mar 25th 2008 11:25AM Multi-Shot: This ability will no longer strike any secondary targets which are under the effect of crowd-control spells that break on taking damage. i.e. Polymorph, Sap, etc. Now this is a lovely little safeguard that several classes are also getting. Now the inexperienced hunters will not lose as many friends, and the more seasoned hunters can find new ways to use Multi that would otherwise not have been advisable.
This has been taken out...
Mar 25th 2008 9:50AM We were trying to beat the patch (late start into the whole raiding thing--started in Dec), but it doesn't look like it'll happen :( We got Vashj down, and just have to smooth through Phase 3 of Kael and we'll have him. Word was last night (if we will even be able to get on) that we'll be heading over to mess around with Hyjal.
Anyone know what they changed in SSC/TK in regards to being able to work on Kael/Vashj without killing the other bosses? Are the gates down but you still have to clear all the trash? What about on Kael? Since you clear the trash going to Solarian, and then you have to clear Kael's trash that spawns where Solarian's trash was. Any ideas?
Mar 21st 2008 11:12AM Too bad they don't update the old world quests...I'm sure they are looking for an excuse to add another dung quest into the game, lol!
Mar 21st 2008 11:10AM Primals won't have a cooldown either? Only one I had heard was arcanite--is this in patch notes somewhere or was it just noticed on the PTRs?
I've found that Major Agility, Draenic Wisdom, and Super Manas are the BEST money makers in the game. Major Agi are a hunter's best friend, Draenics are used by our healers, and Super Manas are always necessary. I'm a big fan of my Mad Alchemist potions because I use them when I'm not learning a new boss fight (the added randomness makes it fun too). One bag is usually at least half full of pots for any run: 10 Super Mana, 10 Super Health, 10 Mad Alchemist, 20 Major Agility, 5 Flasks of Relentless Assault. Rumor has it our super mana users can carry up to 40 mana pots with them on raids. There's a good amount of gold to be had just by looking at the pots I carry.
Plus, with the improved drop rate of Fel Lotus, the flask market will probably reduce to a degree, but selling the discovered flasks is a great money maker for any alchemist.
Mar 21st 2008 11:03AM Interesting point (never thought of it) on sending the pet on the mob on the inner ring. But usually our DPS is so strong that by the time I can even blink, our center ring mobs are down.
During the fight, my pet is definitely immune to the whirls and spouts--he just chills while he waits for lurker to come back!
We always down both adds on the islands--leaving 1 up is a risk--because of the multishots from the other adds can break CC, and it can just get REALLY ugly. We found that if we didn't have the DPS to down the adds, we didn't have the DPS to down Lurker. This was how it was in my last guild--I think the current guild went in and one-shot Lurker when we started as a guild in SSC (it's been so long, so pardon my lack of memory, lol).
Our hunters also stuck MDs on Lurker anytime they were up (we raid with 2 hunters), so it helped our MT out at the beginning.
Mar 21st 2008 10:48AM If all you do is sign in and do your dailies, it can be achieved at a slow, yet steady, pace. If you have a little bit of free time, finish up those quests you didn't do after you hit 70. I had BEM to finish up, and I hadn't even set foot into Netherstorm or STV. By finishing up those 2 quest zones, I was 2K ahead in just a couple weekends. Doing the cooking daily, instance dailies, and then the regular dailies paid well. IMO, it's just about making the best use of your time when you're on. I already have my epic flyer, but I still have to fund my raiding/JC/Alch, so if I have time during the day I sit in Org and offer to craft for people. In the evenings I get on to do raiding 4 nights a week--which is REALLY expensive when learning new fights. But my guildies get on to do their fishing/dailies/whatever so they have their pots/food/flasks/gold to raid that night.
It CAN be done--it just depends on how badly you want it, which will determine how much time you put into it. Prime example, I wanted my Drake (randomly decided I wanted to do this) really bad to replace my flyer--so I spent 1 week doing Netherwing dailies. I got the gold, the rep, and 2 days early (I was running notes of calculations about what I had to do to trim the time off), the mount. I put my mind to it, altered my sleep schedule a bit, etc, but I got it. Same goes for anything in the game. You want it bad enough, you'll do whatever it takes to get it.
Mar 19th 2008 1:28PM We're working on Kael tonight. I just posted that as a time-waster for our melee, lol.
Mar 18th 2008 9:31AM Waaay back in the day when my husband got me into the game, we rolled a druid (him) and a rogue (me). I got bored, and we messed around on various realms until picking our current home when BC came out. Since BC, we've leveled a paladin (him)/hunter (me) combo, we have a warrior (him)/paladin (me) alt team, and then we are leveling a shadow priest (him) and a warlock (me) separately when we aren't on our alts or raiding on our mains. This is my second attempt at a 'lock (first soloing), and I'm really enjoying it. My husband is greatly enjoying his priest as well.
Mar 17th 2008 8:47AM I'll be drinking, staying far away from Kael (don't want a wipe due to all of us being smashed), and hanging out in vent I suppose. We canceled raiding tonight, but if we have a decent group of people on we'll either go add a world boss to our kills list, or we'll go ransack an alliance town. Not sure yet though...
