The old gods disrupted the titans plans for order in the universe, but gave the gift of emotion and free will to the gnomes. hmmmmmm .... Definitely some RP opportunities here for people that want to start RP cults in hidden corners of alliance cities ...
Aug 2nd 2010 12:31PM The tooltip for the base spell says 16%, but it actually should be 20% because the talent ( http://www.wowhead.com/spell=29193 ) that makes it 20 will be baked in... Looking at that tooltip it actually only says melee instead of physical too...
Aug 2nd 2010 12:26PM I'm pretty sure what GC was trying to say is that they are giving hunters the Windfury Totem http://www.wowhead.com/spell=8512 buff. It's not a new buff, they are just giving it to hunters too. That buff has nothing to do with ammo pouches. It's all about helping other classes to feel as important as Shamans.

In terms of graphics settings I turn everything to the lowest setting EXCEPT particle density and projected textures. These two settings are absolutely essential for raiding. Mimiron rockets without particle density are just a rune on the ground. With particle density there's a giant red beam over the rune. With projected textures you can see runes where icicles will fall when fighting Hodir. Without you just die without warning to falling ice. The difference in cloud edge visibility in phase one of Yogg-saron depending on particle density is the difference between getting loot or getting the boot after you wipe the raid enough times.

Phase one: Earth Shield on tank, remember to swap when tanks trade. Riptide, LHW, LHW those napalm targets. Keep that tidal waves buff coming. Watch for Plasma blast by selecting the boss as target or focus so you can see the cast bar. I use Power Auras to give me a nice big notification instead of relying on vent/raidwarnings. P1 is easy on your mana pool because of the water shield procs you get with single target style healing. I recommend equipping totem of the plains or totem of the third wind (if you have it) during this phase. Totems down: standard caster buffs/stoneskin.
Phase two: in tens I have all the ranged/heals move up to the golden edge and spread in a circle around it. By having ranged move up close they have an easier time avoiding pew pew lasers and aoe heals (not just ours, but druids' and priests' as well) jump to everyone. Haven't tried this in 25s but the principle should be similar. Bloodlust will probably be used to get through this phase as fast as possible. Again, watch for "spinning up" cast bar or use power auras to notify. Also rockets are much more visible with higher particle detail video settings (without they just show a rune, with they have a red beam of light coming down on the rune). Heavy mana use: equip totem of forest growth. Totems down: make sure there's a fire resist totem or aura active.
Phase three: (10s specific) We have our entire raid stack except the MT. MT uses spell reflect and their throw ability to tank the head, and also swallows up the bomb bot blasts. OT tanks assault bots in 10s. One melee dps is responsible for grounding the head and collecting trash bots. Done correctly there is very little damage and one healer can help dps. All healers should end this phase with full mana. No special relic or totems required.
Phase four: Relic: Totem of forest growth. Ranged/heals spreads out in a one-third arc of the room. Once all sections are ready to drop, put down fire elemental totem to help with the required dps burst on all sections.
Mar 8th 2009 7:44AM Everyone should have 1 hour hearthstones. That makes one of the most compelling arguments for casual players rolling a shammy there is (15 minute cooldown on Astral Recall not shared with hearth). If Heathstone CD is getting buffed, replace my sentry totem with an astral anchor totem I can jump back to at will as long as I use it within 5 minutes without dropping another totem of the same element and stay within the same zone/bg/instance (dropping flags obviously).
Feb 16th 2009 6:14PM I suck as a tank, and while pvp is much more fun now than it was in the past I prefer pve most of the time. I'm thinking more along the lines of playing out some different playstyles to change things up. My current spec is pretty much a cookie cutter unholy dps spec; I think I'll use my second spec for trying out diseaseless blood or a duel wield. This will keep things interesting as I try out different playstyles, and in some cases let me pick up talents that would make me work better in some fights than others.
