May 1st 2009 11:35PM Hrm, that box has a little Goatse thing going on there.
Jan 25th 2009 9:05AM Your analogy would be more apropos if you were describing something like the Department of Transportation selling a car with a "kill children" feature.
It would be like MADD-licensed Vodka, or a PETA branded bacon. Or my own branded Vodka Bacon, for when you're more than ready for the end.
Oct 24th 2008 2:15PM It's not a matter of my 50 cents, it's a matter of them accepting that they're not providing a minimum level of service to be considered acceptable for their own standards. When they don't offer a refund for a day when an entire server was unable to log into the game, as is what happened to my server the Tuesday before last, they are saying they find that to be an acceptable level of service provided.
All in all, the recent events with extended downtime for the 3.0.2 patch and almost complete unplayability during prime time hours for my own and several other servers is displaying a marked lack of standards on Blizzard's part. Blizzard's name in the community is one of high standards, a company who will repeatedly blow off release dates in favor of releasing as close to perfect of a product as they are able. This recent spate of issues may be indicative of what we can expect from the new Activision/Blizzard, as well as a reduced show of accepting any kind penalty to themselves when they do transgress their usual standards.
Sep 13th 2008 3:16PM On a strict gameplay level he makes his point, but you can't even compare the social aspects. I have met so many people through World of Warcraft, visited them in other cities, gone to their weddings, I even got a really great new job through a friend I only knew from World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft, for me at least, is more about the people I play with than what we are actually playing. Good people are better than good games.
Aug 13th 2008 9:18PM I agree that Paladins will most likely become the preferred tank. If they can be just as good a main tank as a warrior, and far better AoE tank, then there's really no contest. Not to mention the extra threat versus Undead mobs via Exorcism, which will come in damn handy for Naxxramas.

Pretty much kills my theory as well.
Jul 18th 2008 4:44PM So it does. Looks like I'll still have three bags full of armor then.
Jul 18th 2008 4:37PM It's increasingly looking like the Defense stat is going to be completely gone in WoTLK. So far I don't see any new gear with Defense Rating, and the Druid talent Survival of the Fittest has been increased to 6% crit reduction from 3%. This probably means that some new mechanic will be introduced that allows warriors to avoid taking critical hits.
Looking at itemization so far the "-guard" armor seems to simply have more Stamina, and then a melee DPS stat, like +hit or crit. This would be more in line with the consolidation casters are seeing in their gear, with spell damage and healing now having parity. Imagine having one suit of armor for tanking and DPS... such luxury.
