Apr 6th 2009 2:06PM Sweet!
Feb 2nd 2009 2:08PM So.... 5 people died on Loatheb? Were these 5 people ret pallies and locks life tapping to death? I'd be more concerned with the deaths of 5 people than I would over the fact that 1 guy decided to dps with nothing on.
How it was handled was bad. And for the officers to have decided it was done properly, as doing it in whispers would have made others follow suit, that negates the idea of being a casual guild.
Now, had you wiped, and it was a direct result...or as in what happened to us a few weeks ago, someone decided to get someone who was following another, afk for only a few minutes, after a wipe, which resulted in us waiting for 10-15 minutes longer, a gkick right away is eminent.
Still, find out why those people died, really.
Jan 14th 2009 8:50AM As long as people know how to play their class, dps classes should be fine going into heroics. I took my prot pally into heroics only after I hit the raid boss def rating, and broke 20K hp, which really wasn't hard.
In terms of dps, my balance druid, who's in mostly t5/t5 badge, with the t6 chest, I won't see most of the considerable upgrades until I do heroics. Granted there are some decent rep items, but I've gone most of the way to 78 thus far doing mostly instances beyond half of HF, all of Borean, and only a small portion of Dragonblight.
I'm running HoL, Occ, UP, and Strat mainly for the rep gains, even if they aren't too great at this point, and the xp from being rested most of the time, with the heirloom shoulders.
Tanks definately need to do their best outside of heroics to get their gear up, considering not all the dps is going to be in 70/quest gear.
Healers have the issue with sharing the same loot as dps, so they might not always get those needed upgrades. I've seen plenty of people whom at 78-80 are no where close to being ready to heal heroics...
Dec 18th 2008 4:18PM I'm laughing at the fact people are crying that this is bad. I use JoW more often than not, and I was fine off-tanking bosses in 25 man Naxx. JoW+Divine Plea (Followed by Arcane Torrent for Belfs), mana isn't a big problem. If you get real low, switch to SoW for a few til your bar is decently filled.
Or, depending on the boss, tell the MT you're taunting the boss, and to taunt back. This actually came in handy, accidently, when our MT died early on Maex due to heals being sloppy for a few seconds. I was 2nd on aggro, even though I was just the aoe add tank.
Calling others bad, because they can manage threat just fine without JoL is retarded. Yea, at earlier gear levels, JoL may help, but if you can't get the right rotation down, and balance your mana as a OT, then something is wrong. Most of the boss fights aren't that bad where you can't tank the boss for 10-20 seconds while you get mana back, just tell the healers and the MT, and all should be good. There are plenty of ways to manage your mana.
Dec 18th 2008 10:58AM My guild down 3 wings in 25 man naxx last night, which considering it was our first guild 25 man, with a lot of new people, we did fairly well. I'm the guild's pally tank, and I picked up 3 upgrades last night, our healers all got a piece or two, and our 2 locks and mage got some hookups as well. Hell, I almost got in on off-spec loot. I think we had epic DE'd, sadly.
I just want to know why the Red Sword of courage does not drop for me when I do H-UP. At least I get to look forward to the sword off Horseman tonight, if the RNG doesn't screw me over.
