Nov 8th 2008 11:45AM That would look totally awesome on my gnome lock.
Oct 7th 2008 7:39PM I have to wonder if the author of this guide has ever played a holy paladin. If all you talk about is a classes strengths, then any class sounds just great. The real test is when you balance a classes strengths against its shortcomings. Holy paladins are in awfull shape in arena and high end raiding. The changes in patch 3.0 to downranking and potion usage do more to exacerbate our problems than the new abilities do to address them. I've already come to feel like a drag on my raid group, and I'll be asking my raid leader not to take me at all once 3.0 hits (switching to warlock for wrath).
Here is an extensive post to educate anyone who thinks it is holy paladin's time to shine: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=10532600037&sid=2000
Sep 25th 2008 12:20AM I really really don't understand all the whining about needing to reset honor so people won't have an unfair advantage. It is'nt unfair, because everyone had the opportunity to do it. All this does is punish people who had the forsite and drive to plan ahead by making them do it again. Personaly, more than an hour spent in any bg makes me want to blow my brains out, so I'm not sure if I can do it again. Fortunatly, I have come up with a solution that simultaneously addresses the issue of me wanting to blow my brains out, and the unfair advantage that my 75k honor and 400 marks represents. What I'm proposing here is the great equalizer, and what I think is a great buisness model in general: WotLK should come with a do it yourself full frontal lobotomy kit. That way, people who can can play their character with anything approaching skill won't have an unfair advantage over the other 98% of the player base. I know what you're thinking "full frontal lobotomy? but that sounds really painfull." I've given that some thought, which is good because that will be hard for me after wrath, and I think that averaged against the shear bliss that will be playing BGs without a frontal lobe, the lobotomy is a net win.
Apr 8th 2008 4:57PM While people often believe this is the case, there has never been any evidence to support it. And in fact, blizzard developers recently declaired that it has to do with a time stamp.
Apr 8th 2008 3:33PM Im not sure what the point of this article was. You might have made some arguments about poor class groupings, but they got lost in the same tired "omg the loot we want won't drop" story. Guess what, random loot is random. Keep farming.
Apr 5th 2008 11:38PM Im going to have to disagree about the trinket scaling with +heal. I can hit +2100 healing unbuffed and after using this trinket for several days I have yet to see it heal for more than 2000.
Mar 31st 2008 10:43AM First, I suspect that most of the people whining about this aren't running sunwell and never will. Hopefully people playing at that level can understand why this was implemented and what the alternative was. Obviously this hasn't been a huge hinderance to raiding guilds since they are downing the first three bosses left and right.
Second, I believe this could also have been implemented to negate the newly emerging melee imune characters. Even before 2.4 came out theorycrafters had realized that it was theoretically possible for rogues and druids to hit 102.4% pure avoidance, mostly from dodge, which would have made them immune to physical damage. With a few peices of 2.4 gear and the ease of getting 10 agility gems for such an experiment, the goal became much more atainable. Needless to say, a melee immune character might be able to trivialize some of the mobs in sunwell, where it not for the implementation of this buff that now requires one to reach 127.4% avoidance.
Mar 25th 2008 10:51AM As a holy paladin, I would encourage people to also take a look at the resto shaman gear. Depending on how you value various stats, you may find bigger upgrades by slumming in mail gear.
Mar 20th 2008 4:33PM You are severely underestimating the gold that it takes to raid, especially if you are on progression content (which presumably the guild in question will be once 2.4 hits). 20k gold is only 800g per person, which doesnt even come close to covering the time between now and the expansion.
Feb 26th 2008 4:01PM Not saccing a succubus is a far larger dps loss than the dps loss resulting from the life tap nerf.
