Apr 26th 2010 2:27PM I still don't understand this worgen/goblin death knight question. How are they going to explain ANY death knights in cataclysm? Is the death knight starting zone going to still feature The Lich King? Aren't ALL of the events of the current DK starting zone going to have to change if they are to become 'current'? If so, wouldn't that provide a way for worgen/goblin DKs to be included?

Feb 25th 2010 7:27PM Does it make any more sense to play a goblin or worgen *non-DK* character into the current Northrend content after Arthas is already 'killed'? Did it make sense for DKs to go to Outland and fight Illidan's armies after he had been 'killed'?

I think people are missing the point that this expansion is totally different than the previous ones, which just added new starting zones and endgame content. In some ways, calling Cataclysm an 'expansion' at all is misleading, since it's going to be more like a pervasive transformation of existing content, with plenty of phasing to help create a more linear, sequential narrative.

It seems clear that ALL of the quest lines for every race, faction and class are going to be pretty significantly changed for Cataclysm. Seeing as the goblin and worgen starting zones incorporate the cataclysmic events, it would make sense for that to be the case across the board, with Deathwing establishing a new overarching story line for every character at every level.

That said, there's the question of how much Outland and Northrend will be changed...can Blizzard pull off making those zones 'concurrent' with Cataclysm, Illidan and Arthas' status included? Seems like a tall order...maybe the Bronze Dragonflight will just add them to the Caverns of Time ;)

Feb 19th 2010 11:48PM I'm thinking they will have capital areas, not quite cities. Think Acherus...and the new classes for these 2 races.
