Jul 3rd 2008 2:06AM I just checked my email for the BC BETA info.
it says it received10/11/2006 at 11:43pm
I must not have checked my email that morning.
Jul 3rd 2008 1:59AM If I remember correctly, I got a call while I was at work for the BC keys being sent out. I want to say it was either late morning or early afternoon when mine showed up.
Apr 29th 2008 12:15PM My roommate got the game on launch day, and he brought it home to install during his lunch break. I had the day off so I toyed around with it.
I started a dwarf warrior named Chuck.
I hated the game. The starting area was SWAMPED with people. Imagine one of the few servers up when they all crash, and how you have hundreds of people doing the same quests. It takes a few minutes to find a wolf. It takes a few minutes to find the trogg. It takes FOREVER to finish a quest.
I eventually quested my way to Ironforge where I logged out and went back to City of Heroes.
A week later, someone retuned a Collectors Edition of the game at work. Being a whore for special things, I bought it to give the game another chance, and bam! Been playing ever since.
Apr 20th 2008 11:00PM I paid 100 bucks for my invite! And had a sweet vacation in California to boot!
Mar 15th 2008 10:25AM One of my biggest problems with the game is the way people react in real life to your faction of preference.
Here is an actual conversation we had with someone at Blizzcon while waiting for the Video Games Live to begin.
Horde guy: What faction do you guys play?
Us: We play alliance.
Horde guy: Ewwww. Alliance. You are dead to me. *Turns around*
Us: Dead to you?!? We don't even know you! And we play the exact same game!
That got a chuckle from those around us. But in all seriousness it is true. Although we can't communicate, we are still doing the same quests, killing the same bears, going into the same dungeons.
I work in a video game store and I refuse to tell people that I play. After 3 years of arguing which is better, at this point I really don't care. We are all playing and enjoying the same game. And that's all that matters to me.
