Feb 25th 2012 1:28AM I'm an out and proud gamer... and I put the fact that I lead a small casual raiding guild on my resume. It shows leadership skills, organizational skills, and it shows patience, along with the ability to think on my feet and multitask. We're 8/8 DS, and being able to show my employers that I'm dedicated to my guild (and this game) along with all the qualities listed above really seems to impress them. I do stress, however, that it's not detrimental to work.
May 16th 2011 11:23PM First one is going to our fire mage - an officer in the guild, who has phenomenal attendance, amazing dps, and does heaps to help me (GM and Raid Leader) out. He totally deserves it.
Second one will be mine (Elemental Shaman.) Third will go to the resto/boomkin, if we get that lucky.
Aug 23rd 2010 9:05PM I don't know what's better - all these exciting new talents, or the fact that Bink referenced True Blood.
My first reaction upon seeing the changes for elemental were "Chargin' mah lazers!!" I'm quite excited for the new mechanic, honestly, and I'm eager to see these changes live!
Jul 10th 2010 2:37AM I dunno if I'd go -that- far, but you -are- what taught me how to throw lightning bolts. It kinda amounts to the same thing? :P
Jul 9th 2010 12:04PM Bink....!
If I had to lose out to anyone, I'm glad it was you!!!!
Apr 7th 2010 7:35PM I'm in tears. TEARS!
They are sweet sweet tears of joy. After the ups and downs for Elemental in this expansion pack I was ready for them to stay they were getting rid of the spec lol. These are -happy- changes :D
Feb 6th 2010 9:38PM I bow to a superior columnist. You've got me full of giggles. Very well done, Anne :)
Jan 19th 2010 6:24PM Michael Sacco, you are fantastic. That's probably the -best- guide I've seen around since my own failed attempts to blog about Elemental. (Not counting EJ, as that's far more technical). Kudos for the clear and concise information, and here's hoping that newbie Eles read this . So frustrating to see a bunch of elemental players with wrong gem choices, mp5 gear all over the place, etc.
Jan 7th 2010 6:44PM So long and thanks for all the fish! I must say, playing an ele, quite a few times I'd get frustrated with the lack of coverage but it's not for everyone.
Dec 3rd 2009 6:26PM Being an elemental shaman is the closest thing to being a masochist in game right now. The other night on anub HM my guild asked me to glyph healing stream totem as we needed the extra bit of trickle healing for my group. When I said "I'll lose DPS..." the response was "No offense, but your dps isn't that great on this fight."
I used to be very proud about my spec and my class choice... Elemental was cool. People knew we were broke in Naxx when we were hardly out DPSing tanks. No worries, we did get fixed, a bit. But now with the changes to shadow priests and the buff to Eclipse for Moonkins to balance out their changes, and our -nerf- to our 4pc set bonus (it makes sense, really, but why nerf that bonus just to force us into t10? Shouldn't they work on making t10 better than t9?) there almost isn't any point to me being in the raid. A resto shaman can cover my Wrath of Air, a Moonkin gives my 5% crit Aura, and we already run a DP Lock, so my spellpower buff has already been taken. Add in our mutilate rogue or ret paladin for the rest of the TOW buff (3% crit to enemies) and there is no point to bringing me to the raid. And since we generally bring a resto shaman, a moonkin, a ret paladin, our DP lock, and our mutilate rogue... Yeahhhh.
I'm not a theorycrafter, so unfortunately I can't sit here and produce the hard cold numbers that people like to see. Much like everyone else, all I can do is complain about Eles and our lack of scaling, and the general shoddy treatement we've been receiving. I don't want to top damage meters - if I did, I'd have rolled a mage or a lock. But I do want to be competitive DPS, not the one that's lagging behind everyone in ICC because "Oh, that's just our elemental shaman. You know, the token one every guild has now!"
