Activision conference call: WoW still at 11.5 million subscribers {WoW}

May 9th 2009 2:03AM Wordsofivory:
Um....yikes. The fact that you got upvoted so much shows me that wowinsiders commenter base really is just a bunch of raving fanboys to whom blizzard can do no wrong....just as i suspected.

Someone posts their opinion that wow is on a decline/will be on a decline soon and you go off on a dam tirade about how perfect blizzard is and that they will never lose subscribers and bla bla bla. It's casual fanboys like you who are turning the gaming industry into a steaming pile of crap. You pay for shit games, youre paying 15$ a month so blizzard can come up with the next big grind (achievements, pvp, badges, gold) to keep you hooked and you blindly go along without questioning anything. And god forbid someone say a bad word about the mighty Blizzard and you go nuts, ranting about the economy and everything. Stop throwing good money at bad games! it encourages the developers (or publishers i should say) to cater to the lowest common denominator and do nothing but maintain status quo.

Jerzz80:
You posted what i was thinking. And dont worry, regardless of all the raving lunatic fanboy downvoters...there's a lot of people like you and me. Sooner or later blizzard will notice the hit in their subscriber base...
and to anyone reading this who is on the verge of quitting: DO IT. Its the best thing that ever happened to me! put you're money where your mouth is and force blizzard to either build a better quality MMO with something in it for the real gamers, or let them rot with the crying, whining, fanboys in their pit of commercial activision hell. (along with wii cooking mama)

p.s. i canceled my account after all my friends stopped playing. and that number may say 11.5 million, but i guarantee it's not an "active" 11.5 million like it was 6mos - 1yr ago.

p.p.s. yes i think most of WI is garbage, and i really despise activision's new version of wow, but occasionally i come around and find a good article worth typing a WoT for.

25-man gear should not be better than 10-man gear {WoW}

Apr 1st 2009 12:52AM I''m with Alsides on this one. This article reads like a dam troll post off the wow general forums. 25man and 10man should have the same loot...you seriously think that? That's pretty outrageous, and shows how out of touch you are with what's going on. Just a few days ago GC himself mentioned the fact that any 10man encounter that's harder than a 25 is a mistake, simple as that. Chalk it up to learning the new system.

Ulduar will have a noticeable difficulty difference, 25 is harder than 10. 25 gets better gear than 10.

Ah screw it, i dont even know why i waste my time responding to the casual scrub insideer troll posts. I know you guys have to reach your quota to get paid, but these articles suck and it just reads like troll bait. The commenters are mostly idiots who downrate anyone who enjoys difficult content and effort for rewards. I can't wait until a blog with people who care about what they write shows up instead of one that just cranks out meaningless troll posts to meet the quota. I'm done here, and this site will (finally) be removed from my bookmarks. Thank you.

Officers' Quarters: Neros and zeros {WoW}

Mar 30th 2009 7:16PM Talk to them. Be straight-forward and address the guild as a whole. Explain you are upset about the progression and lack of focus in raid. Tell them if they do not perform, they will be demoted/not invited to next raid/docked dkp/or punished. Dont do the g-kicking just yet, it lowers guild morale big time. You have to follow through with your threats though. Examine recount and wws parses, find out who is doing bad and replace them (either through new recruits or different people available in the guild.

Trust me, the competition and fear of being the "baddie who wipes raids" will either push your guild forward or cause it to implode. On the bright side, if it implodes -- that's kind of where youre at now, only when it comes time to disband it won't really be your fault since you tried but the under-performers were just too much dead weight to handle. If you succeed, then you succeed.

The Southern Graveyard is a trap {WoW}

Mar 28th 2009 12:25PM I love seeing all the casual scrubs get butt hurt over the word and the article. Whats the matter babies? the word hit a little too close to home?....broski?

Seriously though, lighten up. It's a pvp article, of course demeaning words must be used otherwise Zach wouldn't be a "real" PvP'er....duhh.

Arena Season 6 details revealed {WoW}

Mar 26th 2009 12:28PM You're right Havitech. Don't change your opinion simply because you have 1 star instead of 3. The arena system is terrible, its broken, and it brought the worst crowd to the wow game (the FPS/xbox live 12 year old cry babies).

Arena is a dumb little mini-game that turned into some type of mutilated behemoth that is slowly eroding the quality PvE and lore-worthy content this game has to offer. It is a cancer to this game that should be removed, and I absolutely hate the "lawl epeen" crowd.

Obviously war is a part of warcraft, so I agree 100% with battlegrounds, but this e-sport 2v2 duel crap has to go. WoW will be a better place for it, both community wise and in regards to balance. Keep your counterstrike out of my RPG! (and the crowd that comes with it)

Officers' Quarters: Overruled {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2009 3:31PM And lets be honest here, i mean seriously - how many female GM's are there? I don't know any, nor have I heard of any. Plus isn't the author a dude? How could he be a feminist?

Weirdo, imo.

New add-on policy makes selling add-ons against the rules {WoW}

Mar 21st 2009 10:49AM Honestly, I hope the Carbonite maker quits after hearing this. Putting advertisements in an addon and requesting people pay for the version that isn't broken = failure.

I am happy blizzard did this. Take it to 'back in the day' where people would write code because it was fun and useful, and maybe to score some recognition and have people use their product. Now everyone just wants to turn into the next Bill Gates.

Vin Diesel plays WoW. Probably. {WoW}

Mar 21st 2009 10:43AM Dude, he's an old school D&D player, I think that gives him plenty of "geek cred."

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised since WoW has 11-12million players. Props to him for discussing his inner nerd on national TV, not sure I could do it.

World of Warcraft Mountain Dew coming soon {WoW}

Mar 17th 2009 10:37PM nuttin' wrong with a little tranny action, amirite?
