More Halloween masks uncovered, mayhem ensues {WoW}

Jul 21st 2009 4:31PM I think everyone started going off the rails with the assumption that Worgen or Goblins will become playable races in the future. Though with the dawn of this new information about the Ogre, Murloc, and Naga masks, I propose a new theory.

Last year during the Hallow's End event, the achievement "A Mask for All Occasions" was removed from the meta achievement due to the masks having too low of a drop rate. Perhaps Blizzard is looking at fixing this problem, by making the masks a 100% droprate inside every Trick or Treat bag. The new masks will be mixed in to add additional variety, as well as being 'junk' masks, that don't count toward the achievement.

Insider Trader: Patch 3.0.8 {WoW}

Jan 9th 2009 6:20PM I believe it was mentioned that material reduction was on the Bolts of Frostweave, dropping from 5 down to 4 per bolt. This in turn changes Imbuled Frostweave Bolts down to 12 Frostweave Cloth and 2 Infinite Dust. This also drops the cloth requirement to the ever-popular Frostweave Bag from 90 Forstweave to 72.

Tweaks to enchanting in 3.0.8 {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2008 3:54PM Same problem here with the low dust counts. As of last night, I had 35 Dream Shards, 20+ Greater Cosmic Essences, but only 8 Infinite Dust. I seem to be indefintely stuck at 417 enchanting, since everything that would level me requires at least 15+.

I think the main problem causing the dust shortage is when enchanting is coupled with tailoring, since many patterns above 415 for tailoring require Imbuled Frostweave, eating into our Infinite Dust supply.

It'd be nice if they offered some way of using the Dream Shards to purchase dust or essences from the enchanting pattern vendor in Dalaran. 2 Shards for 20 Infinite Dust or 10 Greater Cosmic Essence would go a long way toward helping us in leveling.

250GB a month = 8.333GB a day
8.333GB a day = 347.2MB an hour
347.2MB an hour = 5.78MB a minute
5.78MB a minute = 96.3KB a second

So unless you plan on being downloading at 96.3KBps for every second of every minute of every hour of every day for the month, you will not be able to hit the cap. Realisticly 99.9% of people will never hit the cap. Only people running several computer networks, or people pirating vast amounts of information will hit this cap.

While I don't condone what Comcast is doing, but as mentioned before, in many areas, cable ISPs run a virtual monopoly. You either go along with their limits, or you don't get high-speed. Period.

This sort of decision is a very slippery slope in the end.

Titan Panel's perpetual GM ticket {WoW}

Jul 15th 2008 9:22PM While that method does work, it will also submit a real ticket, which will annoy the GM's, so please don't do that.

Titan Panel was just updated to fix this problem (version 3.2.5.20400). Update and the problem will go away.

Lord Ahune strategy and walkthrough {WoW}

Jun 23rd 2008 12:55AM I just got done downing Ahune three times today with zero wipes (including first try), with a partial PuG group almost all decked in mostly 70 blues with a few Kara pieces gear. It was a very long fight for us because of this, but it is very possible.

Tank - prot paladin
Healing - holy paladin and holy priest
DPS - arcane/fire mage and affliciton warlock

The reason for this setup:
1) having 2 healers, it dispurses the mana drain over two people, instead of one
2) heavy AoE damage from the mage, and Seed of Corruption doing the rest.
3) Frost Resistance and Devotion Auras from the paladins
4) Symbol of Hope (mana regeneration)
5) Limits most damage to tank only, since most won't be in range for the Frost debuff

On the average fight, we'd take out the Hailstone relatively quickly, same with the adds. Each time the core reappears, we'd get it down about 15% before the next round. Repeat for about 7 rounds.

As long as the mage/warlock/tank paladin keep the agro off the healers, and the healers can withstand a few hits as well, the fight will take a long time, but it can be done.

Playing as the mage throughout the fight, I'd burn through my full 11K mana, evocation (about 6500 mana) a full mana emerald (equates to about 7200 mana), as well as 3 smaller mana pots (about another 4500 mana).

Truer words have not been spoken. In fact, many fellow Alliance have taken this to heart on the Bloodlust and Stormstrike battlegroups, and effectively 'boycott' Alterac Valley. Alliance are having queue times of under 1 minute, where Horde have queue times in excess of 90 minutes, and ranging up past 2 hours at peak times. On a Friday night at peak time of about 11pm, there was only 4 instances of AV running on Stormstrike, while there were 30-35 of WSG and AB running.

I know personally, I don't like what has happened to AV, and I wonder if anything can be done to fix the alledged 'problems'. But with only 1 victory in the last 50 games of AV I've played, I won't be queuing there too often in the future when I can rake in the same amount of honor from Athari Basin.
