May 5th 2008 4:15PM I'm a warrior, I've been prot for a bigger part of my career [2 years] (just now switched to dps cause of the perfectly capable warrior tanks we already have) I've single tanked Kara all of it its not just for pallies .... we are quite capable ... its the driver ... hell take a warrior and give him a pally and a short learning curve and he can tank too ... I know because i've also done this for a guild who needed a pally tank for some encounters ... learned to do it in about 5 hours ... not hard ... warrior however requires some skill
May 2nd 2008 2:34PM I'm talking about tanking because sometimes there is no other choice as in no other tanks are available. The other 1 maybe 2 times I've had to take over is because the feral druid was just slightly undergeared to tank it. So i would step in and he would dps. The group was already formed we just switched rolls. The other times I've done it the groups had been looking for a tank for close to an hour so I would say find another dps (besides me) and i'll tank it.
thus being unable to find an actual tank - I stepped up and did my part. My point is almost anything is possible especially if you know your class well and have some gear to support it.
May 2nd 2008 1:21PM LOL intervene if you have the rage .. usually i notice what is going on around me fast enough that i'll already be in route .. and too close for an intervene sword and board in hand ready to go...
and I've been playing for 3 years now ... warrior for 2.5 of that. I've tanked Nef and Ony I've tanked Princess Huhu I've MT'd Kara in a fury/prot hybrid build including nightbane I'm a very seasoned tank but my guild prefers my damage to my tanking (since we have 5 very capable raid tanks and i'm usually top 3 on raid damage/dps consistantly trash and bosses)
The reason(s) I'm not afraid to tank a heroic as fury are that my gear is sufficient enough that i survive easily, my threat gen while not being superior to a protection spec is still capable enough that I hold aggro better than a dying tank. Tanks are still hard to find on my server at times ... so I step in and say hey this is my spec I am very capable of doing what you need.
I get the invite they say well lets see how this goes and at the end of the runs its all nice job well done ... i'm impressed a fury warrior can tank ...
its the skill and the person driving with the tank midset not the spec
and just as a side note i'm a very capable tank as well just happen to be a different spec. Its doing crazy things like this that make the game fun for me. Just like the time I solo tanked all of Kara minus romulo and juliann and netherspite (yes that includes moroes - we had 1 death - a kara geared ppls)
May 2nd 2008 12:58PM I'm fury as well ... 17/44 and it works fine for instances. also if you build a good tanking set you can tank in this spec ,heroics as well (skill applied).
I've gone into some pug's a fury warrior for different heroics and have ended up tanking it cause the current tank just keeps dying. My biggest selling point is being confident when talking to the PuG but not being cocky.
if you dot the caster mob intercepting it or what not just throw on your shield stop attacking defensive stance and hold the mob til the bleed goes away it lasts 12 seconds but u should be able to hold it off for that long easily casters can be interupted and reflected maybe a fear is available.
best thing is to just not intercept .... intervene (or just run to it if its close enough) and be in def stance ... taunt and run it away if you have piercing howl use it use demo shout shield block - this way its not DoT'd and it can be re-cc'd
May 1st 2008 11:10AM I really wish warriors would quit QQ'ing about the deathwish/sweeping strikes swap. I play a fury warrior and absolutley love having sweeping strikes. My dps and damage output has actually gone up by using it compared to deathwish. Learn how to use the ability and you probably won't have the QQ sessions anymore. The best players are those that adapt to the changes that are made not the ones that QQ about them.
thats my 10cp's .. my 2cp's are free

Apr 30th 2008 5:16PM fury arms ... have only used 1 piece of leather and 1 piece of mail. the mail was pre-bc the leather was the chest piece off of nightbane which i replaced with ZA badge gear.
I'm in full plate and consistantly top 3 raid damage over all. Plate is fine if you know how to itemize it
Apr 30th 2008 4:58PM bleh ... trouble holding aggro? Most of the warriors that have trouble holding aggro may not have been playing the class as long (although the dps parties are sometimes just retarded and at that point i just let them tank it and let them bitch when they die - eventually they will learn or leave either of which is fine by me)
Honestly I tank Heroics in a PvE fury/arms build and have very little issues with threat. My gear is T4/heroic/badge tank gear mostly Kara composed the only threat enhancement to my gear/talents is 2% threat on my gloves and i can tank them fine. Its all about who is driving the warrior not the warrior itself.
and as for pallies being the best tanks ... i think you missed a key word best AoE tanks. like i said i'm fury/arms I can sit back for 5-10 seconds ... once i get in there (even with imp zerker stance subtly on my cloak and salvation) i can rip aggro off of almost any pally if i'm not careful .. even moreso if its AoE. as a matter of fact sometimes i purposely rip one of the aoe mobs off the pally to use as a rage battery (i love my healers they tell me its ok for me to go a bit wild they got my back - i use this to my advantage admittedly).
in any situation its who is driving the class moreso than the class itself
Apr 30th 2008 3:52PM my buddy and i will just roll new alts and lvl them together in 2v2 fashion. We'll even duo instances to give ourselves challenges (this usually stops after RFK 1 time we duo'd ZF but that was a pain)
and it makes the game seem less repetitive
Apr 25th 2008 1:50PM but Warriors almost never have a reason to slum it up in mail.
well he did also mention that the mail having alot of agility increasing your crit chance thing which to me implies dps. and as stated in a previous post dps warriors (especially fury) will sport leather as many of the stats rogues use work with a fury warrior as well minus the whole strength thing ... hmm bear druid loot maybe ... bleh I've used a few pieces of leather for my dps set and even at one time a mail hunter chest piece because plate upgrades weren't readily available and always the rogue/druid/hunter i gave first priority to the loot.
