Apr 6th 2010 1:03AM They're talked about this before. Basically, as the bosses get harder, players will require more Crit/Hit/etc to have the same effect. You can look at it as the bosses level effectively increasing at higher tiers of content. Of course this means that, while any DPS worth their stripes will be super mega over hit cap for lower levels of content, and so will outgear it by what could be a wider margin than we do today ("OK, I'll put on my low hit gear... wow! I should have a 92% crit chance this run! Super awesome...") we'll also have bigger stat lumps on gear.
Mar 3rd 2010 11:40AM There could be a lot of impact on Blood, actually. With a faster rune refresh, it's entirely possible that there could be some situations where blood runes refresh before you're entirely through your rotation, allowing extra heart strikes with a refresh in the middle, or making GoD much more useful, since you'd not be wasting extra GCDs putting diseases up when you could be hitting things.
The ramifications are pretty big, but I don't think we'll see how big until 4.0 drops. Think of it this way: Have you ever run yourself out of runes and RP at the beginning of a fight or after a movement phase? Not any more! Because those runes that are 1sec from being back will have been back for a while now. Go Haste!
Feb 28th 2010 2:05PM Just to say it again, but nothing makes you immune to hackers. Part of the issue is that "Account Hackers," which is what I'll call them because they're not the same people who, say, hack your computer and crash it, aren't targeting people by finding a list of IP addresses and uploading a virus.
Bugs like this are spread through social sites and gold sellers. The people who are loosing their account info and accounts to this attack are people who are taking questionable actions in the first place, or who don't know how to avoid an email virus (Tip: Never open any out of game mail from Blizz. If Blizz needs to announce something to you, it'll be on the login page or in your in game mail. Nothing they send to your personal email account is worth loosing your epics over).
TL;DR- If you're getting hacked, ask yourself what you did to get it, not at the faceless, nameless, malicious random hacker.
Feb 20th 2010 2:00AM (may double post. If so, sorry)
Undocumented PTR change: Glyph of Oblit upped by 5%
Go team Frost!
Feb 20th 2010 1:58AM Another quickie- Glyph of Oblit has been upped by 5% as well. Go Team Frost!
Feb 4th 2010 1:07PM I think perhaps what people are missing is that Ensidia was not banned specifically for using an exploit or bug to defeat the encounter, but rather for flagrantly doing so. The stated that they didn't change their tactics and that they would not. They flagrantly violated the rules, and when it was pointed out that they had done so, they shrugged and said, "So?"
So? So you get a time out. That's "so." They deserved it, and they still deserve it, and if one or more of them cancels their account because of punitive action, then good riddance.
Dec 17th 2008 10:22AM You know, I have to agree. I was DPS until my GF and I got tired of looking for tanks and healers mid TBC, and so we leveled my Druid and her pally. I tank, she heals.
I now have Heroic Dungeonmaster, cleared Plague Wing last night and I've had few problems with my threat, even on large pulls (Except in Occulus. I agree here, the damn things should be forced to melee for 4 seconds or something). It takes more thought (Pro Tip: Skadi in H!UP should be done in 2 pulls. After you engage, run to the middle of the hall and start spaming swipe. AoE down, pick up Harpoons, run to the end, wash rinse repeat. Throw harpoons, own his butt) and more SKILL (look at that, caps are the cruise control to cool!) but it's not impossible or even hard once you get the concept.
What I'm seeing here is a lot of, "Make us easy like them!" I don't want that. Druids are harder to play as tanks, and more complicated as DPS. But if you do it right, nothing can kill us, and nobody can catch our DPS.
