May 20th 2011 1:57PM That's like dinner for 5 at Taco Bell! I'll take it!
May 17th 2011 8:17AM Are you an idiot?
They charge $20 because 1. it's easier for the consumer to subscribe and not have to deal with paper products arriving in the mail, 2. they need to make up for the 30% Apple is taking and 3. they have to hire new personal to actually "make" the iPad content become interactive. It's not like they're scanning the Magazine and saying, here... read this digitally.
There's actually A LOT of work that goes into converting a Magazine like Vanity Fair or The New Yorker into an iPad sell-able format.
My only question is... when are they going to throw WIRED into the mix?
Apr 23rd 2011 2:43AM Ditto. Especially if it used the subscription model Apple put in place.
I'd even be okay with paying $1.99 an issue and have a year subscription be $15... just saying.
Apr 21st 2011 8:47PM I played around with it for a few minutes... initial response? Meh.
Apr 19th 2011 3:11PM That play on words near the end there had me cringing.
The thing is, I WOULD pay directly for HBO GO, as I have no desire to subscribe to Comcast, AT&T, etc. But since I can't... I'm forced to download the episodes I want to watch via a variety of different websites.
Apr 17th 2011 4:49PM This. App. Is. Awesome.
Everyday they post something new. The "day in the life of" feature is outstanding! You get to read diary entries and letters that notable people sent and received each day.
The maps offered are detailed, and there are even FULL PAGE SCANS of various newspapers! What?! It's very cool & I highly recommend this app to anyone who has the slightest of interest in the American Civil War.
Apr 14th 2011 9:58AM Yes it does. It points to the left or the right when you are approaching your destination.
Apr 14th 2011 9:57AM I don't know if you guys know or not, but your image galleries don't work with Chrome.
Apr 12th 2011 12:08PM Sucks. This is one of the few blogs I read on a "daily" basis. I've discovered SO many useful websites and tricks from this site over the past few years... Good to luck to you guys, it's been an honor.
