Forum post of the day: Heals and heels {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2008 12:52PM "I totally agree. Just because you pay $15 a month does not give you the right to be anti-social. This is an MMO after all and you have to work with other people to get the most out the game. "

Huh? The "right"? Once again, it's a GAME. It's a game that you play Blizzard to play. Like it or not, Blizzard decides you're "rights" in the game - not you. And like it or not, Blizzard has gone out of their way to make their game friendly for solo players.

Maybe people don't want to be social. There are many different ways to play this game, and you can get to 70 without running any dungeons or grouping with anyone. People are different, not everyone gets enjoyment from the social aspects of the game.

So you do not have to work with other people to get the most out of the game because it all depends on what you want out of the game. And what you want out of the game could be very different than what someone else wants out of the game.

Aug 3rd 2008 12:33PM "As for the "I pay my $15 and I'll play however I want" comment, I am so SICK of hearing people use this as an excuse for their anti-social and idiotic behavior."

So everyone should play the way you want them to? It's a GAME. Nobody is required to do anything.

I'll play how I want to play. If I don't feel like giving you heals, you're not getting any. If you tell me to give you heals, you're *especially* not getting any. Also, if I feel like sitting on the bridge on EotS and mind controlling people off the side the entire time for my own amusement, that's what I'm going to do. You don't like it? Too bad. People don't always do what you want them to - that's life.

Get some perspective - it's a game. People pay good money to play, and they can play however they want to. Get over yourself.

A WoW player's guide to Guild Wars {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 4:14PM I would try lots of different MMOs if they had Mac clients.

I did try EVE Online for the worst 15 minutes of my gaming life (which was after the 20 minutes it took to even get to any game play).

A WoW player's guide to Guild Wars {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 4:08PM I don't care what anyone says - Guild Wars is NOT an MMO. It's like 95% is that a real MMO?

When I played I was annoyed that I could only put like eight of my spells on the action bar at any given time, and if I wanted to swap them out I had to go back to a town.

Also annoying is the only place you can interact with people is in the towns. Personally I like WoW because I can be strolling along on a quest and get a quick PUG if I need some help. Or I can assist someone I see in trouble. No such fun in Guild Wars.

The Daily Grind: Which MMO should go away? {Massively}

Apr 21st 2008 10:08AM "I was reading an article about RuneScape. It said 'People spend months, and YEARS, devoting dozens of hours a week playing RuneScape, and for what? A really expensive item? (That is only 70 pixels)'"

I've got news for you - that's what you're doing in EVERY MMORPG. I'm not bashing MMORPGs, but don't kid yourself that the time spent playing WoW is any less "wasted" than playing Runescape (aside from the fact that Runescape sucks).

Scattered Shots: Professional development {WoW}

Apr 10th 2008 3:36PM Maybe - but not so profitable when you consider you have to level it up to at least 225 (and higher) to disenchant high level items. There is nothing cheap about leveling Enchanting.

A Lament for the Qiraji mount {WoW}

Mar 3rd 2008 6:56PM Actually I think we opened the AQ gate yesterday on the last server to do so - Misha. From what I understand all new servers will have the gates already opened.

So if you wanted the legendary mount, I think you're SOL. :)
