Feb 5th 2009 11:00AM Does anyone really care about these columns? I mean, the silly TV shows that inspired this kinda thing have died a well deserved death -- shouldn't this lame schtick go too? This provides nothing -- no game information, no news about the game, nothing social, nothing artistic.
Jan 31st 2009 1:41AM Baby spice does nothing if the dbag is sitting clicking off the 'debuff'. This is something that Blizzard needs to address -- as in, you know, actually do something about.
In a previous post here, I brought this up & called out the guild Failure on Whisper wind, since they seem to actively encourage dbag behavior. A member of Failure followed up on my comment, saying, essentially, that their anti-social activity served them well in gaining new recruits. I probably believe that -- and I also think that it's time for Blizz to put guilds on notice; if they actively encourage a-holeness, they should be mass perma-banned. Guilt by association? Hell yes. Why not? Isn't a guild a community of players wrapped around common goals? If that goal is to be the most annoying people on a server, then they should be gone. Any "innocents" that get caught up in that (admittedly draconian) dragnet, well, don't associate w/jerks.
Jan 23rd 2009 10:41AM Baby spice doesn't help if they are NOT afk & actively being a-holes. On Whisperwind, the entire guild "Failure" seems to consist of annoying little punks with nothing better to do than try to cover the mailboxes in IF and fill the fountain in Dalaran with their mammoth a-hole-ness. They will happily sit there and click off the baby spice debuff for, literally, hours.
Blizzard needs to do SOMETHING about this. Changing the Naxx summoning stone size or position doesn't address the problem -- it merely denies the jerks one location for their griefing. There are many mailboxes in the world (but really, if you're using the AH in IF, should you have to run/fly elsewhere just because there are juvenile idiots around) but there is only one very small Dalaran fountain. Isn't the life of fishermen trying enough??

Back under your bridge, troll. You've made your seasonal visit as you, or one of your tribemates, do every year. Honestly, this tripe is as seasonal as the "OMG, Blizzard is supporting drinking!" during Brewfest.
Nov 28th 2008 12:02PM I'm pretty much a fan of boxee, though it really sucks on appletv. Hulu is impossible to watch -- and CBS is only slightly better. Having said that, I did watch all of the "Jericho" episodes... after a while, the jerkiness stopped being so obvious (until I watch some *real* tv). My GF couldn't stand to be in the room while the CBS video was playing though (due to the playback quality, not the show's content).
I'm hopeful it'll just keep getting better and better. Other than better playback, my biggest request is for pause/play to work... pause, well, pauses, but I cannot get the video to ever play again (the program counter changes, but no sound/video).
Nov 12th 2008 10:24AM I'm a professional programmer for quite a while. Yes, stuff happens; however, this is something that Blizzard should have been able to avoid. This illustrates -- yet again -- that while they really believe in play testing, they have a very unprofessional, cavalier, unacceptable attitude to testing "behind the scenes" changes. Whatever their development process is for back end database/infrastructure changes is, it doesn't work -- repeatedly.
Hopefully they will feel some level of pain/embarassment from this debacle & seriously review their internal controls, which are, obviously, out of control. Blizzard cannot tell me they applied whatever update caused this mess to their internal test realms/PTR, whatever, and had better results. If they did, it means that their test servers do not accurately simulate their production servers which is of course a huge problem.
The silliness w/the PVP gear being sold for nothing should have been caught by automated testing (how clever do you have to be to write a script to check that vendor prices are non-zero?).

Nov 8th 2008 12:42PM Thanks for the reply! Engineering, here I come! :)
Nov 7th 2008 3:03PM So is tailoring still a "must" for shadow priests? With the change to "+spellpower", is there anything THAT worthwhile that is tailor-specific?
