Mar 8th 2011 11:26AM A couple recent breakfast topics have been about whether people are satisfied with how the Cataclysm expansion has turned out, specifically in regards to the two new races and Rated BG's. The responses seem overwhelmingly negative. Is this just a case of the positive voices not being heard over the negative voices, or is there really a lot of dissatisfaction with the expansion? Are you folks at WoWInsider hearing more negativity about this expansion than previous ones? I realize your response will be subjective, not scientific, but that's all I'm interested in--your subjective opinion.
Mar 1st 2011 11:55AM I'm curious about the legendary caster staff. If Blizzard follows previous patterns, the staff will drop in fragments and have to be assembled, painstakingly, over the course of quite a few raids. How the heck are guilds supposed to decide which DPS will be allowed to loot the fragments and assemble it? I foresee a lot of competition and a lot of hard feelings in the future. How do you think guilds will handle this?
Jan 19th 2011 10:28AM One thing I've noticed is people saying they don't have to work out because they have a high metabolism. This can and usually does change with age. Also, what you think is "high metabolism" may actually be a more active lifestyle than you are aware of. Change your lifestyle--i.e., change jobs--and you might find yourself packing on the pounds. I went from a job in an office environment that had me on my feet most of the day, either standing or walking, to a desk job that has me sitting for eight to ten hours, and I picked up some extra pounds pretty quickly. Up to that point, I'd always credited my thinness on high metabolism, too.
Jun 18th 2009 9:36AM I go through periods of burnout, and these have become more frequent in Wrath. I've been playing since 2006, though--longer than I've ever played any other video game. I think the advice someone else gave--play when you want to play, don't play when you don't--is good advice. I'd go a little further and say that when you do play, play how you feel like playing at that moment. Don't feel like you HAVE to log your main, and you HAVE to do the Tournament dailies, etc. I'm telling you this from experience because I have a hard time keeping the game from becoming like my job instead of my hobby.
Nothing will kill the game faster than making it just another duty or responsibility in your life. If I feel like playing a guild-less, low level alt and letting my main languish, days of dailies left undone, then that's what I do.

Nov 6th 2008 7:07AM The soundtrack and the frost wyrm are the best reasons to get the CE.
Oct 14th 2008 1:10PM The first thing I'll do is allocate my talents, then visit the trainer to buy upgrades.
Aug 27th 2008 4:18PM The CoT Stratholme instance hasn't been implemented yet, so no information on that. Death Grip has a 35 second cooldown, so you would have to have a very large number of players to keep someone "locked" for any significant period of time. And if you have a large number of players, why would you need to Death Grip them to death anyway? you could just kill them as a group.
As far as a diminishing return, it's not like Fear. It works basically as a way of literally "pulling" a mob and applying a minor stun. The stun is almost unnoticeable. Can you pull someone over a cliff? If you're within range and have line of sight, yes; but if you're in range it won't cause any fall damage to them.
Aug 20th 2008 11:38AM I heard on the World of Warcast podcast that Spellstones and Firestones will become a temporary enchantment to the weapon and will not take up any slot at all on your character pane. I don't know where Starman and Renata got their information, though.
Aug 13th 2008 8:42AM The change to Enchanting is huge. Anyone with a high level Enchanter or enough gold to buy enchants off the AH is going to be able to twink a character for the battlegrounds, or just enchant an alt's gear with the best enchants for their current level. Enchanters who don't like spamming trade may actually make some money, too.
