Feb 20th 2010 1:41AM Got one a little while back. Though it really looks awesome, the pet it summons does practically no damage, which is a bummer.\
However, it is pretty cool to hit a macro I made to summon it:
Hocus.... Pocus.... Abra.... CADAVER!!
Feb 18th 2010 2:58PM I see that 5% number on WoWHead as the drop rate.
However, I swear that since the last patch, its not even close to 5%. More like 2 or 3. Spend a couple hours farming herbs, end up with bags full of herb stacks, and like 1 or 2 Frost Lotus. Its been awful. I am hoping the 50% increase at least gets us back to where it used to be.
Feb 5th 2010 6:46PM I do agree with the solutions offered here. Some genuinely good stuff.
However, the assumptions and observations used to get to those solutions are often contradictory or flat out wrong.
"Complaint 1: Balance druids do not scale as well as other classes!
There is hint of truth to this claim, but overall it is not entirely correct."
This is incorrect. However, in stark contradiction, the author stated correctly the following:
"Balance druids currently do have some serious scaling issues"
"Eclipse, much as people will state otherwise, is not the direct reason we use Wrath in PvE."
"Wrath has always held a higher damage yield than Starfire due to the Starlight Wrath talent and even way back when the Starfire Glyph indefinitely increased Moonfire's duration, Wrath still had a place within our rotations because, anytime there was time enough to cast Wrath without losing Moonfire, it was a DPS gain."
This is incorrect. If you can still find them, go back to some Hyjal and BT log parses, which was the progression content when the Starfire Glyph acted as described. Wrath at that time was usually a little behind Starfire.
"Going 5 seconds additional seconds between your expected Eclipse proc rate will equalize out to only be a loss of a spare 100's of DPS here and there."
I agree that the deviation in DPS from minute to minute or attempt to attempt is not quite as extreme as it used to be, it is definitely more than a couple hundred DPS here and there. Log parses still continue to show massive deviation between low and high dps for a single Boomkin in successive pulls of a boss.
Murmurs got very high marks from high profile Druids when taking up this column. I hope this was a nervous first outing, and that future articles will be more accurate with 'facts'.
Feb 4th 2010 2:24PM Great to see Graylo contributing! Read his blog all the time, great stuff!
I would like to see the following changes to Ecplise:
1) It becomes charge-based instead of time based, with an expiration time. This would be where each eclipse buffs the next X number of the appropriate spell cast within Y amount of time. The amount of time before expiring would need to be fairly long, maybe in the 30 to 40 second range, depending on how many 'charges' you get. Also, consuming all charges would reset the opposite debuff; if you use all your 'charges' casting Wrath under a Solar, Lunar is immediately available again.
2) The buff provided by Eclipse gets dramatically nerfed. The current numbers are insanely high. The DPS difference between Eclipse and non-Eclipse is far too wide a gap. The massive buff provided by Eclipse also causes the scaling issues of having 2 major stats soft capped, which is something that just can not be balanced. Our DPS would have to be raised in other more stable areas. Perhaps the coefficients to all our spells would be raised slightly, along with a few talent tweaks, that would in sum, make up for the nerf to Eclipse.
3) I would like to see Eclipse provide a raid buff! I haven't put any thought in to what that might be. This could get really tricky too, given how raid buffs are currently available from multiple classes. Because of that, it would almost have to be something that already exists. Practically everyone grants Replenishment these days, maybe that work as our Eclipse raid buff. Or, maybe something similar to the buff provided by the Resto talent Revitalize.
Jan 18th 2010 6:53PM I have a well geared Bear, but queue as a Laser Turkey instead. I would rather wait 10 minutes and keep my blood pressure from going through the roof. I end up much happier when the run is over.
Jan 14th 2010 7:12PM "As a moonkin who wears exclusively caster leather and has high haste and DPS output, in heroic 5mans, I express my intent to offtank"
I was about to laugh, then I realized that this guy might actually be serious...
Jan 8th 2010 5:48PM Its white and longer than your average cape or cloak.
Dec 26th 2009 1:11PM Moving Dalaran would probably make an interesting cut scene. Its a bit late now, since WotLK is nearing its end, but had the potential for awesome.
Nov 27th 2009 5:36PM Second that.
