Spiritual Guidance: So, you want to play a Priest... {WoW}

Jan 14th 2008 4:05PM Level 66 - Human - 23 Disc/33 Holy/0 Shadow

Put points in your mana managment and Divine Prayer. Nice added Buff. Then focus on heal bonus.

When I was leveling I put 5 points in Wand Specialization and (as the user stated above) would wand to death after dotting with both holy fire and pwp. Start with Holy Fire as the length of time it takes to channel the spell makes it hard to use after combat begins. I do Holy Fire, PWP, then shield. Depending on the level NPC or NPCs I will do Mind Blast and Smith keeping enough mana for shield and wand to the end. If I generate enough mana while wanding I will smite again.

I agree with enchanting. It is a great bonus to a group to be able to DE any BOP the group can't use. At higher levels, the shard can be much more valuable than the vendor sold blue.

Finally, a priest can DPS with a good Wand and the above spells in rotation. No worries especially at lower levels. Invite that priest along if you can't find any other DPS player willing to go in your instance. Especially and area with undead for CC.

Forum Post of the Day: Bring back the honor grind! {WoW}

We all need to have a life outside of WoW.

Spiritual Guidance: What kind of healer are you? {WoW}

Dec 30th 2007 10:26AM First off, I am a noob. My priest is a level 62 holy priest. I have never run a raid which I look foward to soon. I really enjoy the heck out of healing and and very appreiciative of a tank that understands the need to keep me alive. When I go down, more than not the group will follow. I also have started a pally and a druid to compare the capabilities of all.

I do think mana efficiency is a problem and the key to improving priest's position as the strongest healers in the game.

I use the light well as a drop after I go down so I can focus my remaining time on the tank (or the other party member with rez capabilities). The biggest problem is getting the dps guys to know how to use it. They either ignore it or click all five charges and not wait the 6 seconds required for the heal to fully occur. I do see it work when dps needs to disengage from the fight run back to my well to heal if I am down.

I would love to see divine spirit buff and more management added to holy priests. Priests should be the strongest healers and I do feel that many are opting for the three other healing classes.

Perhaps some type of self rez like the shammys or feign death like a hunter.

Of course, my experience is limited. My biggest problem is dealing with players that carry no food, no bandages, no healing pots, and any dps that pulls aggro off the tank on EVERY mob. Any priest will have a very hard time to succeed in those conditions.

I look forward to reaching 70 soon.
