Apr 23rd 2008 11:47PM I don't understand the issue here.
If you don't want to arena, then don't. You can acquire season 2 epics through PvP Battlegrounds, just as you can earn Season 1 epics now.
Season 2 gear is AWESOME. Heck, Season 1 gear is awesome.
I pvp in full season 1 gear, and I do completely fine. I didn't have to arena one bit to get those pieces and feel completely satisfied with what I reiceved.
If you want even better epics, but you feel like you can't get high enough arena points to get the new season, then just buy Season 3.
Again, Season 3 gear is AWESOME. All of the season gear is AWESOME. If you get a full set of any of it, then you'll be set untill Wrath of the Lich King comes out.
Now, if you want the BEST OF THE BEST, OMGWTF AWESOME gear, well guess what? You have to actually work a little harder to earn it now.
I don't see a problem with this. Raiders that are starting new encounters for the first time have to work extra hard for that gear. Eventually, the strats are perfected, the attunements are removed, and the masses can start earning that gear too. It's the same thing in Arena. This new season is for the top crop of Arena players. In the future it's restrictions will be reduced and more people can get it.
No one is forcing you to Arena. I sympathize with those that don't even like Arena. It's fun to me, but it's not what I consider "real" PvP. I perfer battleground gameplay then glorified duels. But I don't mind playing a little and getting what points I can.
If you refuse to Arena however, then don't feel left out. Season 2 gear is waiting for you so you're not left in the dust.
Mar 21st 2008 7:45PM WoW isn't forever. Someday, the servers will be shut down, or my subscription will expire, and what will I have to show for the multiple years of play time?
I'm not really concerned about getting the latest Tier gear to make my character look cool.
For my warlock, I already have all the gear I need. My blue PvP set that I earned during the old Honor rules. Took me about 5 months to get the full set, and was my first big accomplished goal in WoW. Everything after that set was just icing on the cake.
Mar 20th 2008 7:02AM My expectations as a Paladin seem to be different then others. Of course, I had a warlock up untill shortly after the release of BC, so I was already aware of the perception of Paladins as healers. And since I wanted to be a "combat" medic, I thought a Paladin would be perfect, especially for PvP. They seemed to be the ones with best defenses like Auras, Bubble, BoP, and plate. They could do a little damage when needed, and they could heal!
I love my Paladin, but i'm pretty dissapointed overall with my "combat medic" status. The biggest dissapointment is that we don't really have any defenses after all.
All of our "bubbles" can be dispelled. The plate armor I wear never really seems to make much of a difference in keeping me alive. My only active defense, is a stun on a one minute timer. That is the only thing I can really use to get some distance from a melee player trying to shut me down. And my auras are useless, because I must ALWAYS use Concentration aura. If I don't use Concentrion Aura, then I will never get a heal off in time due to spell pushback.
Which leads into my biggest problem, getting heals off. There are so many ways to just shut me completely down and make me stand there for 6 seconds, unable to do anything but auto attack with my Healing one handed mace. I can't even count on my "special" abilities on long cooldowns like Bubble, to get off heals, because they will just end up being dispelled and i'll be slienced/interuppted again.
Mar 18th 2008 5:00PM Why would PC Gamers even want this game? It's essentially a dumbed down Civilization.
It looks like its coming along great. I think its cool to see that they might actually be able to pull it off on a console. But it's not a PC game, and it never was going to be a PC game.
Just wait for Civilization 5.

The name "F.E.A.R." is owned by Vivendi games(the original game's publisher), while the characters and plot of the game is the property of Monolith(the original game's developer).
There is a "F.E.A.R. 2" under development as well; however it has nothing at all to do with the original F.E.A.R. except for the same name and publisher.
The real sequel, in terms of plot, will be Project Origin.
Mar 12th 2008 10:05PM I don't really have a problem with Outland or the Draenei. I think its a cool change in direction for an expansion, and really explores an "alien" world.
But personally, I am not a fan of the new gear that has come out of the expansion. Especially as a Paladin, I don't appreciate everything being covered in floating Neon-Colored crystal shards.
I rolled a Paladin so I could be a knight in shining armor, but it seems like the style of gear keeps trying to turn us into a transformer or robo-cop.
Big boo for all the goofy maces that look like Cotton Candy or Bubble Gum, and all the shields that look like expensive jewlery then defensive gear.
Jan 26th 2008 5:49PM All this hate on Fox News is misdirected. The problem lies with the news media in general. Fox News isn't any more likely to sensationalize a story then any of the other 24/7 networks. It's all about the ratings in the end. Ratings=Money!
And the blind hatred of Fox News needs to stop. Most people that say these things don't even watch Fox News, they take this information from second hand sources or from that "documentary" Outfoxed. LOL. Why don't you check who's responsible for the funding and creation of "Outfoxed"? Conflict of interest much? If you watch Fox News you'll find it leans to the right, but it is not a Republican mouth piece full of lies and misconceptions of the truth. Seeing how MSNBC and CNN lies to the left, it really isn't a big deal. If you really want news, you wouldn't be watching 24/7 news networks anyways.
Still, it would be nice for a retraction from Fox News for this rediculous story. I'm not holding my breath though.
Jan 21st 2008 6:29PM I love free speech just as much as the next person, but get real, the WoW message boards are a private entity and not a place for people to talk about whatever they please.
I feel like Blizzard has the right and responsibility to moderate the forums more so that these racist, sexist, and just plain offensive threads are deleted. I would also hope that their is an investigation into what accounts are posting these messages, and whether any other accounts can be linked to them. So that the person responible loses his priviledge to play, even when they are posting on alts to hide their identity.
Jan 15th 2008 6:57PM The alpha male look of the characters is exactly why my 2 70's are women. A human female warlock, and a draenei female paladin.
I find it really dissapointing that Blizzard chose to make the males in WoW look so brutish and one dimensional.
But the downside of playing a female, especially as a plate wearer are the skimpy breast plates and thong pants I would come across while leveling. I would get really excited to find an upgrade to my gear, only to find that it makes my character look like a skank so I would just end up selling it.
WoW is a great game, but its one gigantic failure is taking customization away from the player.
Jan 15th 2008 5:46PM Rise of Nations 2 please! Put Empire Earth 3 and Age of Empirese 3 to shame!
