Jan 7th 2011 7:37PM Immersed in what?
A game with magic and steamboats?
A planet swarming with different intelligent (and mutually hostile) lifeforms where none has achieved ascendancy?
A game where death is "only a setback"?
A wacky world full of fun and funny stuff with over the top artwork and crazy quests (damn, missed the trampoline with that one...) and epic boss fights, and grindy achievements and lucky breaks (yay! random mount drop) and twinked alts and and and...stuff?
I love those references and when I get them they always make me laugh.
Now give me Dance Studio like you promised on the my WotLK box so I can fix those dances I hate.
Nov 18th 2010 1:19PM A note on Argent Tourney dailes:
I would hazard a guess that every class (ICC geared) can complete all the dailies now solo at level 80. My main (rogue) can solo the elite dragon & his bomb throwing friends w/o any risk at all in a solo build (improved recuperate + deadly momentum). It was already possible for classes with self healing abilities (blood dk, pally, druid etc) to solo pre-patch. My guess is that it only got easier for other classes (rogues included) with the talent revision.
The only daily i skip is jousting the commanders (the gargoyles make this a time consuming and dangerous daily).
all the others are quick and easy. lots of gold, short time investment, moderate fun, mounts and pets and twink items.
Oct 7th 2010 3:24PM Will WoW Insider update thier leveling guides for Cataclysm?
There are going to be droves of Goblin/Worgen leveling
There are new race/class combinations
In both cases that means people trying new classes.
Demand for leveling guides will be higher than ever.
But the new talent/spell changes have rendered the old guides obsolete.
Feb 22nd 2010 12:42PM The primary reason that Blizzard opposes selling gold is that unlike character transfers or pets, you can make gold in the game.
If Blizzard allows gold to be worth "real money" (i.e. a defined exchange rate is established) then the IRS would be able to tax making gold in game as revenue.
This would be a world ending cataclysm.
Regarding RETCONs I've never seen what the big beef is.
Haven't we been experiencing them for years in comic books?
1. Hero/villain dies horrible death
2. Hero/villain reappears 10 issues later
3. Hero/viillain explains apparent death/survival as (choose 1)
b) survival fluke
c) he's from an alternate timeline/dimension
d) he's a clone/robot
We are subjected to this over and over and over.
I suggest we just get used to it. Raging just makes us unhappy and changes nothing.
Dec 3rd 2009 2:02PM I agree that Mastery can fix it.
But I'm still disappointed that when they saw their WotLK fixes weren't working they decided to kill HaT. I never even got a chance to try it!
I was thinking "this is just the first shoe"
The "other shoe" will be a major rework of Shadow Dance (so people actually want to use it)
But of course we know that "other shoe" never dropped.
And my big beef with the Sub as a spec is it can't make up it's mind:
- is it about openers? (which haven no real impact in PVE), or is it about finishers?
- is it about big slow weapons? Or is it about daggers?
Combat & Assassination don't have this confusion, why must Sub?
Nov 6th 2009 4:33PM I agree that most BG achievements are aimed at DPS.
But not all - the flag carrying achievements are much easier for tanks.
And (arguably) the "win 100 BGs" is best suited to healers since they turn the tide.
Aren't you glad that your class can do it all?
Oct 23rd 2009 11:40AM Although I think the "they're all raiders" is a but if a reach,
One thing is obvious:
All these people are playing WoW during TV prime time (instead of watching advertising that pays for TV network offerings).
And since (thank God) we're not spammed with advertising in-game we're free to live our consumer lives untainted.
As WoW's popularity continues and (hopefully) other MMOs pick up as well this will have long term consequences on how our society works.
Oct 7th 2009 4:17PM "And I think that the point is, if you're standing in the AoE but get out of it within that one second after Vanish, you should stay stealthed. Not that you could stay in the AoE for five seconds and be immune."
That may be what you and I would prefer, but I don't think it's what Blizzard promised (or intends).
It would be a super buff and would necessitate an associated super nerf.
No thank you!
I think both you and Chase are misinterpreting what Blizzard intends.
They aren't giving us immunity from being pulled out by AoE or DoTs for 1 second.
They're fixing vanish so that flight time, swing time and server lag don't break a vanish.
That's all we could ever legitimately complain was broken about vanish anyway.
Aug 19th 2009 11:19AM The FoK nerf was inevitable.
But I'll miss it!
The HaT nerf kills the HaT PVE build (estimates I've seen in Elitist Jerks put it over a 1000 dps < HfB/Mutilate or KS/Combat now).
My personal hope is that finally Blizzard will do something with the crazy brokeness that is Subt.
The current PVE spec is built around 1 point talent.
No specs use the 51 point talent.
The tree can't figure out what it's about -
Backstab (with dagger)?
Hemo (w/o dagger)?
And HaT was so insanely OP as a single point talent that Blizzard's hands were tied in trying to fix the rest of the tree - it would only buff HaT making matters worse.
I wish they'd address this shortly (and they probably won't)
But I hope they address this in the next few patches.
