Oct 9th 2008 11:04AM You miss my question....
Is Epic Flying a Pre-Req for Northrend Flying.
If so, that is asinine, especially if there are flying-only accessible areas for pre-raid progression like Netherstorm.
Oct 9th 2008 10:43AM Do you need epic flying tho?
I'm switching alts and I don't want to have to pause and farm 7000g to get to Northrend flying.
Oct 2nd 2008 12:57PM While I loathe RNG generators, if they aren't going to give us an instant-cast, give us the ability to resist interrupts.
Sep 19th 2008 3:41PM One thing I think it handles better, at least right now, is the PvP. Unfortunately, I burnt out on raiding... raiding now is very impersonal and annoying... With transfers and people rolling in, taking loot and leaving for the next 'tier' instead of firming up guild loyalties... Just not worth the annoyance.
And PvP in WoW is me getting my rep-gear ass rolled by bored S4 teams. No thanks.
The only thing I think that weakens WAR at PvP right now is assist-training can rape your ass.
Aug 29th 2008 3:26PM Then you're a twit. Investors don't care if your subscriber base is as big as WoW's. They want to know if you made money. Profit == good investment.
Lotsa profit == great investment... It's money well spent if money is returned.;
Aug 29th 2008 3:22PM No, actually. If you read up on WAR, there is no PvP ass-hattery / griefing.
One of WAR's founding principles is the Chicken Mechanic. If you attack players in a zone that is low level in comparison to you, you are turned into a chicken with 10 HP and doing 1 damage per hit.
WAR, as I saw it, had no reason to send you back to the level 1-10 areas once you're 40, at least to PvP.
Aug 29th 2008 2:16PM WAR's going to rape WoW of its PvP center.... The Scenarios (BGs) and RvR (World PvP) are more engaging than what WoW has to offer.
The only people who're going to be sticking with WoW are the raiding community, maybe the casual non-PvPers and your eSport monkeys.
Even with the amount of content that was gutted for release (in theory, it will be added and that actually gives Mythic things to focus on per content patch, instead of WoW's WHOPPING 2 PATCH A YEAR cycle), the game is very playable and very enjoyable.
The fact that tanks have support abilities and player collision exists adds a new dynamic to the game, where to succeed you actually have to overpower a tank and healer (which is doable) to obtain goals. I played a Chosen during the PW weekend and holding a bridge against 7 people was awesome. They eventually wore me down, but that's not the point... time was bought.
If anything, WAR is going to force WoW to rethink its PvP approach. No offense, but arenas are retarded.
Aug 27th 2008 3:49PM Blizzard itself might not have issues, but the WoW Team might...
Blizzard has several projects in the offing, and if they maintain their standards, they will continue to make money hand-over-fist.
WoW is getting old though, and if other Blizzard games begin over-taking it internally, they'll see less money, less resources and less support. That puts pressures on project leads who solely exist in WoW to try and keep ahead as the best MMO.
If it looks like WoW is dying, Blizzard'll switch focus to D3 or SCII to keep money flowing into it and hope their next-gen MMO they're keeping under wraps will retake the title.
Aug 27th 2008 2:02PM Blizzard casts "Oh shit, WAR's getting better reviews than we thought! Better hold onto the fish!"
Playerbase is afflicted with OHHHH, SHINIES!
Aug 21st 2008 4:53PM It wouldn't be hard to simply create a console with a USB interface, to be honest.
