Breakfast Topic: Dealing with unpleasant players {WoW}
Jun 8th 2010 12:08PM Two examples of why I will drop group if I see the other players are friends from other realms:
1. I'm on my hunter and we are all doing fine running HOL. Suddenly I stop getting heals, I ask politely "Why are you not healing me?" healer says "I want to watch you die" and when I do the tank says "Owned"
2. I'm in Occulus and one of the members mentions they want the mount if it drops. We get to the last boss and they kick me. I then notice it is all people from the same realm.
so now when I see that the LFG is 3 or more people from the same realm I drop the group. Sometimes you will get a run with nice people but 90% of the time they are downright mean.
The votekick system really has too much potential for abuse. If it is LFG then people or friends from the same realm should NOT be allowed to group up. It is suppose to be random.
Korean team H O N takes the trophy at ESL's Global Arena Tournament {WoW}
Mar 9th 2009 5:52PM Being American and having lived in Asia for nearly 10 years this does not surprise me. Big congratulations to the Koreans on their win. Generally Asians work very hard at whatever they put their mind too. They are also very gracious and humble. In victory and defeat.
I love my PvP! {WoW}
Apr 26th 2008 9:31PM Finding a balance between PVE and PVP content can be difficult as there are people on both sides that are very passionate about the time they have invested.
PVP for most people is not "wtg noob afk in cave for welfare epics" most people put in endless hours trying to get better skills and better gear. Because pvp *does* take skill...you knew that didn't you?
PVE also takes a great deal of skill, time and coordination invested to get better gear.
The animosity between elitist raiders and pvpers is extremely destructive. Each person feels they are better than the other, which is why I find Adam's articles so grating and annoying.
We had an guy in our guild with an elitist raider mentality who looked down at our pvpers. His attitude literally destroyed our guild.
Do what you want to do and have fun with it, don't look down on other wowers because they choose to do something different than you.
Drysc says what's up with PvP gear for Season 4 {WoW}
Apr 24th 2008 5:58PM Well I just quit all of my arena teams with no intention of starting again.
I am a feral druid with feral gear. The only way to climb into the brackets high enough to get rated gear is to respec to resto AND GET AN ENTIRE NEW SET OF GEAR. I am a scrub, my husband and I could barely climb above 1400 this season.
I will go on record as saying that I never bought and sold teams to pad my ratings so that isn't my issue with this.
I think this is terribad, and so, I will not be playing arena this season. Someone needs to lose so teams can get their ratings, sorry it isn't going to be me.
WoW, Casually: Welfare epics {WoW}
Mar 27th 2008 5:37PM You know, I really resent the whole "Welfare Epics" title and I will tell you why. Perhaps for the horde on some servers it is easy to get honor to purchace these items. But I am on a server that is horde dominated and it took me *6* full months to complete my entire s1 set including vindicators and rings. I would hardly call that "welfare" as it was not *given* to me, I *worked* for it. Shove your "Welfare Epic" analogy where the sun doesn't shine.
Undocumented changes so far in patch 2.4 {WoW}
Mar 26th 2008 5:42PM My Tiger doesn't roar anymore. And my Vindicator's boots look totally stupid now. AV lag is bout 10,000. But overall VERY pleased with this new patch.
Forum post of the day: Really bad quests {WoW}
Feb 26th 2008 4:33PM I'm surprised no on has mentioned how time consuming and aggravating the Winterspring Frostsaber quest is. The drop rate on collecting shardtooth and chillwind meat is horrid! Although much easier now, when I did it it was 75 reputation points a turn in to exalted. Took me a month and a half. Still love my purple kitty!!!
Breakfast Topic: When did you get hooked? {WoW}
Jan 22nd 2008 4:40PM I've always been a huge rpg fan back in the days of Ultima and foward to Oblivion but I had never played an online game before. My husband started playing about 6 months before I did.
I refused to play WOW because I knew I would be addicted to it if I did but I was losing out on so much time with my hubby and frankly was quite irritated with him at times because he played it so much.
I now have a 70 Night Elf Druid main that I adore playing and it actually has brought our family closer as our son plays as well.
What I love about this game and noticed immediately was the clever use of detail in the environment, the developers don't miss a thing and that thrills me.
I didn't think I would enjoy playing with other people but I have made some really good friends on WOW and have had some times when I have laughed so hard I cried with them.
Yeah there are jerks in WOW and there are jerks in life but that also adds to the enjoyment. It is such an engrossing game I am trying to get some of my buddies to try it...they call me the "Wow pusher" LOL
Breakfast Topic: How is your PvP Battlegroup doing? {WoW}
Jan 10th 2008 4:53PM Bloodlust Battlegroup (70's Bracket)
AV: Horde win 98% of all battles, usually with 600+ honor to our 0
The rest of the battlegrounds are full of premades vs pugs, I very rarely now ever see a pug vs pug. I'm happy if I get into a premade, not so happy if I am up against one. All in all it has been a very long grind to get my gear, however I love pvp even so and will continue to play because I want to get better.
