12 Days of Winter Veil Giveaway: Dragon Kite from WootLoots.com {WoW}

Dec 18th 2011 5:03PM Flight of dragons soar in the purple light
In the sky or in my mind
Flight of dragons sail past reality
Leave illusion behind

Is it the past I see
When I look up to the heavens
Believing in the magic
That I know could never be

I want to go where they are going
Into the world they've been
Can I open up my mind enough to see

Flight of dragons, heavenly argosies
Catch the wind, rise out of sight
Flight of dragons, pilots of fantasy
In the sky or in my mind

Flight of dragons
Flight of dragons

WoW Moviewatch: Who's the Tank? {WoW}

Dec 8th 2008 9:28PM These are not in the original video, but I thought "what names would look NOT out-of-place in WoW when you see them over someone's heads, but end up with confusion when discussed over vent or voice chat?"

And I came up with these to help me.

1 Raid Leader = Abbot (night elf rogue?)
2 Tank = Hoo (prot warrior)
3 OT = Hoowever (prot pally)
4 Healer 1 = Idunno (holy priest)
5 Healer 2 = Costello (holy pally)
6 DPS 1 = Wot (fire mage)
7 DPS 2 = Wai (combat rogue)
8 DPS 3 = Bcoz (beastmaster hunter)
9 DPS 4 = 2moro (warlock)
10 DPS 5 = Eyedonker (ret pally)

Breakfast Topic: Should raid progression even be tracked anymore? {WoW}

Dec 4th 2008 8:22PM I agree with you, Tony.

And, a year and a half to 2 years from now, when all the content patches have arrived, and when the end-game is, again, as insanely difficult except for the most anti-social and mercenary of guilds to complete, Adam will be justifying another loot council that gives a legendary epic ranged weapon to a rogue just because said rogue was raiding Naxx 2 weeks into Wrath and not to the hunter that only joined since patch 3.3.something.

And, finally, all the hardcore raiders will be happy that they, and only they, have bragging rights once again. And they can, at long last, earn the right to call everybody else "noobs" or "bad players" and advise them to "L2P".

THIS was satire.

Breakfast Topic: What was your least favorite part of this year's Brewfest? {WoW}

Oct 7th 2008 9:43AM Unlike last year, when the tickets were worth their weight in gold because of their purchasing power, this year's tokens can only promise you what? The chance to cause a ruckus in Dalaran by dancing in Bavarian costume?

About the only thing that was worth buying that was available for sale last year was the membership... and even then they were a big disappointment as well. Yay, I'm talking in 00001110100101. Yay, I have a squirrel non-combat pe- hang on, where'd it go?

And the kodo didn't drop. I got all of Coren's worthless coins, though.

WoW Moviewatch: Dragonball Z Warcraft style {WoW}

Sep 23rd 2008 6:25AM DBZ, once upon a time, almost beat porn for the number of search requests...

... or at least that's how the urban legend goes.

Only two things I want to say:
1. I immensely liked DBZ, but only up until the Freeza saga. Then it became silly.
2. I liked this DBZ-style WoW Machinima; only criticism is that it's too short.

Breakfast Topic: Back to square one {WoW}

Sep 18th 2008 1:20AM Ah, thanks for not being insulted, Zach. My assumptions were rashly made because of two compounding factors: criticisms (valid though they may be) not constructed and given positively (what's so hard in saying "Zach, don't you mean..." rather than poison the well by saying "noob writer") and the fact it was levelled at someone I identified as a Pinoy who did have something valid to say.

Yes, it's true that for a lot of Pinoys English (or at least, the Pinoy version/dialect thereof) IS a first language (I'm one of them), and I've found that the particular compatibility of diction is able to explain things to me better than most (I liked the way you explained resilience, for instance).

I apologise again for the accidental insinuation, and keep up the good work.

Peace pare!

Sep 17th 2008 10:15AM I would just like to point out to everyone taking a jab at Zack's writing—English is not his first language and IMHO he's doing really well.

How many other languages do you guys know to speak? To write?

Sep 17th 2008 10:03AM I used to play my mage alt regularly and, I felt, became good at it. But after I resigned from my guild, the main reason I play my alt (to escape level 70 responsibilities) was instantly gone and I played my main only for the last 6 weeks.

I just recently went back to play my mage, fully expecting I'll perform as I remembered—it was like learning to walk again. My timing on frost novas was off, as well as what used to be my finely tuned sense of its effective radius and I've totally forgotten how to deal with GCD (used to be 2nd nature).

After humiliating myself on the battlegrounds (I thought it was safer and more anonymous there) I just went back to my main. Perhaps later I will find the time to re-learn to play my mage.

Sep 17th 2008 9:57AM Sorry, Arcaria. But except for the "one of the most excitement" phrase, everything felt clear—his point was made immediately.

And in terms of style, this is a Breakfast Topic. I may be wrong, but so far all Breakfast Topics I've read were meant to read as informally as this.

Lighten up... it's a blog, not a REUTERS. If it annoys you, don't read it.

Sep 17th 2008 9:48AM It's not the macros, it's not the add-ons; it's just that playing different classes, heck, even different builds of the same class is a different paradigm in terms of gauging range, muscle memory of which keys and buttons are pressed instinctively, how many spell or ability options are available, etc. It's even excacerbated when moving from one role to another (tank to healer, healer to dps, etc.).

In fact, add-ons and macros can help the transition to become easier... at least in my experience.
