Jan 7th 2011 10:15AM People need to seriously chill out. If you want to play some game that's "pure" fantasy (i.e. Tolkien/Moorcock rip-offs), check out... every other frelling fantasy MMORPG out there. (Not that WoW is immune. White-haired dude with a sentient runed sword who kills everyone he loves? Really?)
Anyway, just because WoW is more successful than the standard fantasy games doesn't give them an obligation to stop being Warcraft. And part of that is Nazi goblins.
Nov 17th 2008 8:44AM I have never had a queue on my (Medium-pop) realm. Quest areas can be a bit overcamped and twice I've had people (my same faction) walk right up and mine the cobalt I'm standing right on top of because a murloc attacked me or something but most of that is to be expected.
Most of the time people are good about inviting to groups for quest mobs if you're the same faction.
Oct 21st 2008 11:17AM female irl, and I have a male tauren feral druid and a female belf prot pally. The first raid guild I was in, back on an Alliance server, had a female MT because all the guys were like LOL MORTAL STRIIIIKE.
Feb 10th 2008 7:19PM Swipe is not a tanking skill, hasn't been for a very long time. It has no threat modifier.
Feb 10th 2008 12:50AM There's always the occasional person who just obsesses over WoW (or any game) to an absurd degree, usually because they're trying to avoid something in their RL.
But it's absolutely NOTHING like a gambling addiction. Going for > 48 hours without sleeping, eating, showering, etc. is pretty normal for a gambling addict.
And if you think people play for that long because they're on a winning streak, I admire your optimism but fear for your naivete. There's a lot of WoW-branded crap out there, but you could buy ALL of it, including the CCG, the laptop, etc. and the amount of money you'd be spending would still be tiny compared to a gambler.
Feb 4th 2008 2:36PM The problem with respec costs is they disproportionately effect certain classes. Especially tanks, even druid tanks.
Jan 25th 2008 11:05AM One of my friends on an RP-PvE server had a guild event where they all rolled level 1 dwarves and raced from the starting area to Booty Bay.
My friend was new to the game and had never played alliance, so she got very turned around initially, but then I started directing her and she was the only one who ended up swimming along the Westfall/Stranglethorn coast and won the contest easily.
We also had a scavenger hunt around Orgrimmar once, random stuff you might not notice like the armor of Mannoroth.
And, of course, drinking, dancing and naked fistfights are the heart of any RP event.
