The OverAchiever: Guide to Children's Week 2011 {WoW}

May 2nd 2011 9:08AM Ironically, it's not EotS or AB that bothers me -- I love those BG's, and I snagged those steps of the achieve quickly.

It's WSG that I hate with the heat from a thousand suns. I despise that BG with every fiber of my virtual being, and the mere thought of having to go in there to do what I feel is the most difficult of the 4 steps fills me with utter dread.

I queued up for WSG 8 times last night -- at least the times were short, so there's that -- and each one made me feel more and more frustrated. Only once in all 8 matches did I even get CLOSE to a flag-carrier's death to have a chance at returning it, and somehow it got clicked before I even saw the damn flag.

I don't know if it's just my battlegroup that is refusing the "nice" pick-up-and-drop help, but all 8 matches last night were legit, and further emphasized just how much I hate this battleground.

Gold Capped: Buy low, sell high {WoW}

Apr 29th 2011 10:03AM Not really related, but I LOVE that outfit that the guy in the pic in this story is wearing. What are the specific pieces, so that I can recreate it on my orc bank alt?

The Light and How to Swing It: Protection Paladin 101 {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 3:21PM Thanks guys! As I was going, I couldn't let go of the idea of LOLRet in my head, so was hoping I'd hear this.

The Light and How to Swing It: Protection Paladin 101 {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 3:03PM Welcome, Rhidach!

Quick, probably very silly question: having had a Holy Priest main my entire career in WoW (since Beta), I've oddly developed a recent curiosity about tanking (I must be some kind of masochist).

Is Protection a viable leveling spec for a Paladin? And, by viable, I don't mean that it's "the fastest" or anything -- does it work well? I'd rather learn my classes abilities as I level then do something one way, only to completely change it up "at the end" and have to relearn all over again...

Thanks!

Spiritual Guidance: Balanced gear along the road to the shadow priest endgame {WoW}

Feb 16th 2011 3:16PM So, I've tried to use this program before, but I can never seem to figure out what my recommended stat weighting should be from the results.

I've downloaded the latest version (Mac OSX, if it matters), and through the Beta UI I've loaded up my character's Armory profile and done a run of 10000 with the program's defaults. After doing a run, looking at the results, where do I see the stat weights?

Ask Mr. Robot: What gear should you get? {WoW}

Feb 9th 2011 3:08PM I like it -- it's a great tool for those of us who want a quick recommendation of what is (or is almost) the best, without having to deal with applied calculus. Being a casual raider still gearing through heroics, this is PERFECT for me.

The only thing that I think would make it even better is to be able to print not just the single best item for each slot, but rather that top 5 or 10 (user-defined, of course) for each slot, to give people a progression to work through.

Basically, people can't expect to walk in and get the BiS piece instantly -- we all work our way up the ladder to that point. It'd be nice to have in hand more than just the last step while playing, if we choose to print things out.
