May 6th 2009 1:39PM I love how WoWMatrix prompts me to donate to the addon author if I update the addon using WoWMatrix. I have donated to half a dozen addon authors because of this feature alone. I feel that WoWMatrix does have the addon authors' interests in mind.
I was initially against WoWMatrix directly leeching from Curse/WI and encouraged others to avoid WoWMatrix during that time. However, their new shift to hosting the addons directly themselves through GNU licensing and author-requests is spot on and should be applauded. Write your favorite author and ask them to OK WoWMatrix hosting.
Also, WoWMatrix has a native Linux client and I play WoW from Ubuntu 9.04. Anybody that released a Linux version of their software on the FIRST RELEASE is OK by me :)
Apr 30th 2009 5:56PM Honestly, you shouldn't be banned permanently. It was a dumb thing to do but, hey, who wouldn't have run around one-shotting a few raid bosses. Losing a WoW account can be a pretty big kick in the nuts. Are you going to keep playing?
Mar 18th 2009 5:42PM FuriousRaid (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/furious-raid.aspx). It's amazing, easy to set up and results in ZERO drama. Here is the write up and guide on how we use FuriousRaid: http://www.downfallguild.org/downfall-furiousraid-loot-system
It's suicide kings but managed through an intuitive interface.
Nov 17th 2008 7:01PM Beautiful, thanks Jacob. This thread helps a lot with the "disappearing dvd" problem that a lot linux (and windows) machines had with the Wrath DVD:
Nov 17th 2008 6:31PM I have run WoW on Ubuntu 8.04 (now 8.10) via Wine for the past four months and I couldn't be happier. Following a few simple config guides online (most notably at wowwiki.com) and the Ubuntu forums, I've been up and going at tremendous frame-rates. I cleared Sunwell on Linux and have installed and made it to 75 in Wrath.
Heads up though: Ventrilo is a pain to set up correctly and the Wrath DVD needs to be copied locally before installing.

Sep 25th 2008 4:48PM I would tattoo this entire article to my ass and moon people with it if I could.
I've been nothing but a holy paladin for 3 years and I can't agree with you more. As a guild and raid leader, I've actually 24-manned bosses because the 25th raider felt the run-back was "really boring".
Healing is a big enough pain in the ass, we don't need jackasses expecting that we are suddenly their personal servants because we've chosen a more selfless and less glamorous class role.
Don't piss off your healers.
Sep 4th 2008 5:14PM Probably one of the best WoWInsider articles I've read. This had me smiling the whole time :) Keep up the good work.
Jul 8th 2008 7:30PM Exactly what Clayton said: It's brilliant from Blizzard's standpoint. No one is going to cancel their WoW subscriptions to play D3, just like none of us cancelled our WoW subscriptions when GTA4 or Metal Gear Solid 4 came out.
The only thing that will kill the WoW subscription base is another Blizzard MMO. *cough*WorldofStarcraft*cough*
