Aug 11th 2008 9:12PM Nice! This is exactly what engineers need and will rock for PvP - all the utility of being able to use parachute cloak, rocket boots, etc without having to swap out your gear and wait for the 30sec CD first... perfect for emergencies (falling off cliffs in AB etc) and the boots.. well.. awesome for chasing / escaping someone :D
Aug 3rd 2008 7:55PM if you've looked at the loot tables in WOTLK, BT/MH+ geared people are not going to be upgrading their gear until like level 76+ anyway - there's ultimately no reason to run this instance other than quests
the epiced people will only be the first wave of people hitting northrend. give it a few months, and everybody pushing 70 will be geared in quest blues/greens from the 60-70 grind. looking ahead, it makes sense to have the instance tuned for them. tuning it for epiced out people will result in an impossibly hard instance for everybody else down the track.
Jul 29th 2008 6:41AM 8k for a teleport?
... or i could, like, spend less than 1k, get engineering up and have TWO teleports, one to winterspring and one to area 52. with surely another northrend one inbound...
Jul 16th 2008 2:53AM nobody likes nerfs, duh
however, rogues are pretty much the most OP offensive PvP class in the entire game right now. they sorely deserve it
if you are a rogue and you do not agree, go on, try rolling another class and see how you fare. yes, other classes can beat a decent rogue... but in order to do so they need to pull out pretty much every trick in the book (along with a bit of luck to boot)
May 29th 2008 11:36PM 10 agi with kings buff is 11 agi - that's right, despite kings looking great when applied to your ENTIRE agility, it is a percentage and can be broken down thus.
so kings will give you an extra 1rap and approx 0.5 crit rating for any given 10agi gem
and so you would socket that gem over a 10AP/5crit gem (yellow gem) into a yellow slot and lose the set bonus which in itself is probably +4 AP or +4 agi or something similar as it is on most hunter items?
Apr 30th 2008 8:39PM In the real world, you'd call this guy an "entrepreneur".
If you're selling something, and people are willing to buy, what's the problem? Nobody is being scammed - the customer knows what they are paying for and it is their decision alone whether or not to pay for it. As long as they get it in the end, how can this possibly be a problem?
Mar 27th 2008 11:36PM @ almost everyone in this thread who plays a hunter and is qq'ing:
get rid of your trash "of the bandit" greens and get some decent gear
almost every single piece of level 70 epic mail DPS gear contains at least 15-20 intellect, usually more (the only one that comes to mind that doesn't is the epic engineering helm)
my kara / t4 geared hunter has 242 intellect unbuffed and i have no mana issues other than maybe drinking @ 75% mana after each 4-5 pull in a 5man, post 2.3
there is no issue here imo.
Mar 27th 2008 11:23PM clearly you've never played a warlock and/or heard of life tap before
Mar 2nd 2008 11:31PM yes i have, it cost me 400g max to go from 0-300 auctioning ALL the mats
the only hard leg was 360-375, but once you have the repair bot pattern, easily farmed from ogri-la, this isn't that painful either
i love engineering. as a hunter, jumper cables are AWESOME for impending wipes, as you can FD and once everything's reset, you can bring up your resser who died
rocket boots / parachute cloak is an awesome exploit (which is unfortunately getting nerfed in WSG with dropping the flag upon use, but still..)
plus i'm a bit of an explorer/exploiter and engineering very much caters to these tendencies, hehe (parachute cloak jumping from LM to BS anyone?)
and the grenades, if you're inclined to use them, provide an AOE stun effect which can also be handy in BGs
gyro balanced khorium destroyer, scopes?
the +28 crit scope pattern is extremely hard to acquire, given you've got 1 chance per week of attumen dropping it for you. they auction on my server for 550g, and i can basically farm up the mats in a couple hours (with possibly putting down 100g or so in the AH for _all_ the mats)
mote extractor... 2 clouds is more or less one primal, and i ALWAYS find at least 1-2 whilst crossing zangarmarsh or farming for ada. netherstorm has quite a few as well, as does nagrand
engineering has it's place, it is the most fun profession i've ever had. and the flying machine rocks
