Aug 21st 2011 9:52AM It appears you're right, the chest is no longer available. But good news! There's an easily obtainable alternative out there: Arugal's Robes. The model and colors are identical, so your set will appear complete. Just head to Shadowfang Keep and kill Baron Ashbury, the very first boss, until the robes drop. You can do this in the level 85 heroic for robes with better stats, but all we're talking about here is looks, and the normal, level 20ish version is more easily farmed and looks exactly the same.
Aug 6th 2011 7:20PM There's a comma there! A comma!
Jul 24th 2011 7:46AM Everybody relax. I'm fine, no family deaths, no virulent diseases, no tragic accidents, no warlock assassins. I just got incredibly busy with my day job this week and needed a substitute. I'm very thankful Tyler was willing to step up and pinch hit for me at the last second. And the way I bash on warlocks every week (and will continue to do so until they stop letting me write columns here, and even then, I'll probably just reapply under a pseudonym), I am more than willing to allow for a modicum of tasteful mage-bashing in response. This is the price we pay for being so unapologetically awesome, people. It's lonely at the top.
I'll be back next week, barring an act of God. I'll try not to suck.
Jun 11th 2011 7:40PM Aw, you shouldn't have.
Wait, yes, you totally should have.
May 1st 2011 5:43PM Oh thank goodness. I can't begin to tell you how much I missed it for the brief period it wasn't working for me. Thank you for your wonderful addon, good sir!
Apr 9th 2011 6:27PM I apologize, profusely. My work schedule and family schedule has been nothing short of ridiculous of late, and last week's AB became a casualty of that nonsense. I'll figure something out so it doesn't happen anymore. On the bright side, though, it is good to be missed!
Jan 9th 2011 2:22PM Damn you, Hobbs!
Dec 4th 2010 9:10PM I'm not sure why it's telling you you don't need the full 17% ... are you sure you were looking at the cap for raid bosses? Well, whatever it's telling you, rest assured that you really do need the full 17% to completely remove misses from the table. Frost has no hit talents (just like every other kind of mage), so everything you're getting has to come from gear, gems, enchants, and buffs.
As for the crit cap, there really is no hard cap short of getting to a flat 100% crit chance, but the soft cap is way, way below that. For frost mages, due to the fact that most of their DPS is based upon the 3x multiplier granted by Shatter, that soft cap is 33%. Anything above that will make your crits against frozen targets have a higher than 100% crit chance, so any additional crit beyond that point is essentially wasted. Get your frost mage to 33%, then consider your crit needs capped.
Dec 4th 2010 9:01PM Yes indeed. The cap at 85 is 1742 hit rating. Thanks for pointing this out. It's in the post now!
