Aug 30th 2006 1:54PM The rain-coat psychos and the special forces guys have the ability to knock you out rather than outright kill you. You can escape from their clutches if you're captured, but it can be tough (especially Special Forces). If you avoid capture by either group, that counts for the "don't be knocked out" part.
Aug 9th 2006 10:00AM I've got 150 hours invested in the game so far, and I still find new dungeons and quests as I roam around. I don't think it needs an expansion.
It helps that the downloads they've offered so far, other than the horse armor, have been pretty decent (and at a good price point).
Aug 3rd 2006 1:25PM That Acclaim-based show was Video Power, with your host, Johnny Arcade.
It became a video game-themed game show eventually.
Jul 27th 2006 10:24AM In my opinion, gameplay should always trump lore in MMORPGs. There are times when changes need to be made for the good of the players, and those changes aren't easily explained lore-wise. This is a good example of one of those changes.
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't run around in-game thinking "What?!? A Tauren would never do THAT!" and the like.
Jul 25th 2006 7:19AM If they staggered server downtime, you would see the servers that stay up get flooded with players from servers that are down. Displaced players usually do little more than grief others. Do you really want to deal with that every week?
I think the bigger story is that this maintenance is extended...again. What exactly is going on with the servers that is requiring so much downtime lately? The past month or so has been filled with restarts, extended maintenance and other downtime.
Jul 12th 2006 11:37AM Here's the thing though...guys like this obviously have little to no life outside WoW. He probably plays more WoW in one day than half the subscribers get to play in a week. Why let him ruin the game experience for other players (all of whom pay the same amount of money he does) just because he has the social skills of a six year old?
Sure, you can say "come back tomorrow". Guess what? There's a good chance he'll be there again. (read the comments to see how many people intend to try to replicate his actions) And for some players, coming back tomorrow is not an option. It would be more like "come back next week" or whenever they can grab some free time. Do you not see a problem with that?
Why Blizzard allows this to happen is beyond me. Griefing, especially like this, drives players away. Maybe that's part of their fix to lag problems.
Jul 12th 2006 10:14AM This isn't funny in the slightest. Some guy being an ass because he's too stupid to figure out what he can do BESIDES play WoW is just that, some guy being an ass.
Jul 10th 2006 10:19AM I was impressed with the Prey demo. Having Blue Oyster Cult blaring on the jukebox at the beginning was a definite plus. (huge BOC fan) :)
I liked the organic feel to the weapons, as well as the level design. I hadn't even considered picking up the full game and had only downloaded the demo on a lark. Now it looks like I'll get to break in my HDTV with the full version of Prey.
Jul 6th 2006 11:39AM Would love to look at it but I've not been able to access it all morning. I can hit the forums with direct links, but the front page simply times out.
You'd think they would spend the smallest fraction of all that money they make on a decent web server that can handle six million users. But you'd be wrong.
Jul 6th 2006 7:18AM Maybe this will fix some of the lag spikes, lockups and super slow connection times that have appeared since the last mini-patch.
