Lost Pages of Taborea: The Runes of Magic Database {Massively}

Sep 27th 2010 6:19PM Playata makes me angry :( I've never seen a site that so blatantly copies things from other sites than them. Compare the text at http://www.runesdatabase.com/syndication/tooltips with the text at http://www.aionarmory.com/syndication.aspx see anything familiar? oh yeah thats right, they just copy and pasted our text and find and replaced aionarmory with whatever site they are copying this time. I'm all for imitation in terms of features as that is always going to happen, but just blatantly ripping off text? lazy and unprofessional

WoWMatrix responds to Curse and WoW Interface {WoW}

May 6th 2009 4:29PM wowmatrix is coded in a scripting language, so the entire source code is loaded in memory when it runs, people just looked through their own memory and dumped it

May 6th 2009 2:51PM People keep talking about how great wowmatrix is and how it "just works" and it always gives up to date addons, when really its because they are the ones lying to you. they are editing addons and your wow files, also proof:

removing copyright:

and editing addons:

May 6th 2009 1:27PM notice how they address the issue of why they were taking files from our servers but they fail to address why they edit toc files, why they remove copyrights, and why they edit addons

also, the amount of bandwidth money WM offered didn't even begin to come close to covering the amount they caused every month

Curse releases premium add-on download client {WoW}

Apr 29th 2009 9:09PM except that we are giving a portion of our profits back to the addon community, on top of the free tools that we already offer authors

Curse releases premium add-on download client {WoW}

Apr 29th 2009 9:06PM first off, they removed copyright code from addons before installing them, here's a snippet of code from their program showing it

http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22697

they edit your config.wtf file to hide errors so you think your ui works, and edit the toc files of addons so it seems like your addon is up to date, also, they don't really show the real website for many addons, see how they replace he real quest helper site with their own

Apr 29th 2009 6:15PM actually, i'm just the coder of the DB sites, and people had some questions/inaccuracies, so i answered their posts, no conspiracy at all

Curse releases premium add-on download client {WoW}

Apr 29th 2009 5:24PM 20%, but we hope to raise that amount depending on how successful the premium program is

Apr 29th 2009 5:19PM the false positive updates are just the tip of the iceberg of stupid stuff wowmatrix was doing, i particularly liked the part of their source where they edited addon code to try and remove errors so people would think they were working, or just plain removing copyright messages from carbonite
