Jul 1st 2010 1:07PM I think there are a lot of characters in the Wow universe that could have turned this mechanically-solid-yet-creatively-passé video into something really cool:
Lady Liandrin & Velen/the naruu/the restored Sunwell
Jaina & Arthas (could "knocked me down" connote recurring grief?)
Wife & Mankrik (probably too tounge-in-cheek for this style, but hilarious nonetheless)
That list is really short. Bliz, we need more stories with legitimate couples. I mean, when Thrall & Jaina are the hotest duo in Warcraft, something ain't right.
May 24th 2010 5:31PM Interesting facts: The uterus is a large cavity connected to the fallopian tubes that then wrap up and outward. The tubes, however, are connected to individual ovaries on the sides of the body. They do not wrap up to directly above the uterus and then combine in a central ovary. The Blood Halls would look like the human body if your fallopian tubes connected your uterus to your liver. That's just gross.
Apr 28th 2010 4:49PM Judge ready? Opponent ready? Ok, 6 minutes on the clock: With the coming attack on Horde settlements by Deathwing, Ragnaros, and Alliance forces, the Horde needs to stand strong under the guidance of a leader who is not tactically retarded and bloodthirsty nearly to the point of demonic possession.
Thus, I affirm today's resolution, "Resolved, the various component factions of the New Horde ought to follow the lead of someone other than Garrosh Hellscream" by enacting the following plan:
Plank 1 - All component factions of the New Horde will swear fealty to A Basic Campfire through executive order.
Plank 2 - Funding and enforcement through normal means.
Contention 1 - Garrosh Hellscream will cause nuclear war.
A) Hellscream chooses to fight with the Alliance instead of work against Yogg Saron. (Blizzard '09)
B) Hellscream wanted to fight with the Alliance in ToC, weakening our armies facing Icecrown. (Bilzzard '10)
C) Hellscream will eventually equip the Horde with welfare epics in order to make them stronger when fighting the Alliance (LFD, '10)
D) Internal Link: Welfare epics will destroy the in-game economy (Blizzard Forums, all the goddam time)
E) Impact: Economic failure will lead to nuclear war. (Mead, 92)
Apr 7th 2010 2:57PM Also, the Lich King's stroll is seriously slowed by the Icy Patches dropped by Rimefang. Rimefang can freeze some of the minions, allowing Tyrannus to pop Unholy Power and go to town on the minion packs in piecemeal fashion. Tyrannus can also punt some minions away to give himself a breather - likely to the opposite side of an ice patch. Tyrannus' issue will be getting stuck in Unholy Power mode if the LK gets close and being unable to run, but I suspect that he's smart enough to pop his buff early in a pack wave, rather than later. In other words, LK doesn't stand a chance.
Mar 9th 2010 5:48PM The problem is that very rarely does a question present you with 3 dick moves and 1 not-dick move. More likely, they present you with 1 course of action that is half cool, half dickish and 3 courses of action that are so mind blowingly irrelevant/insane/unbelievable that it's hard to tell one apart from the other. "Okay, so I'm a lawyer/dentist/professional wrestler and I want to advertise using my friend's aunt's cousin's LiveJournal page. Should I a) do so, but be sure to inform the US House of Representatives first, or b) build a statue of Megan Fox and leave it in my office?
Alternatively, if the answer choices make sense, you're guaranteed to be facing a question stem that takes at least two full episodes of The Young and Restless to fully explain.
WTF, MPRE? WTF?
Jan 23rd 2010 3:00AM Also, if we kill Arthas in CoT, then he never becomes Lich King. If he never becomes Lich King, then no one ever goes to Northrend. If no one ever goes to Northrend, then Brann never discovers that Yogg Saron recently broke out of his cage. Without that, patch 4.2 becomes the patch where everyone's toons turn into mind-controlled tentacle slaves.
Jan 12th 2010 10:07AM I'm on the side of the IED - it provides so many more stats than any of the other choices that I can't fathom using anything else. Customizing your gear is great and all, but if one piece of gear is just abstractly better than another, we can also customize our style around the new gear.
As other commenters have noted, IED provides ~300 mana, .2% crit, and 60mp5. The best that any of the other metas can do is 3% increased crit effectiveness, or +25 spellpower, or +.3% crit chance. To translate, the other metas can offer 3% overheal, an extra Runed Cardinal Ruby, or a negligible increase in crit chance. Or half of an ilevel 200 trinket. I fail to see any room for debate.
If priests are swimming in mana, stop using Hymn of Hope instead. Stop using so many Spirit items, and get more Crit/Haste throughput gear. Stop using regen trinkets (Solace excepted), and get more throughput stuff. Stop using regen enchants. Stop using regen talents (trade Holy Concentration for Blessed Resilience/Empowered Healing/Body & Soul). Start using more expensive spells (PoH, Binding Heal). Stop using the Flash Heal Glyph. Cast more and cast harder.
Finally, the Solace issue sheds some good light on the IED debate. If healers are swimming in mana, then why does everyone pine for the Solace trinkets? Because they're overpowered. Even through they provide a decent chunk of mana regen, they are overpowered for their gear level, and thus people want to use them. THE SAME LOGIC APPLIES TO IED!!!
