Server Maintenance Party: Battle for Eastern Plaguelands live stream {WoW}

Aug 19th 2010 9:55AM even though I failed to catch the main 'deployment' I did manage to die several times in a foolhardy effort to regain the north tower.

I watched the streaming video too, and thought it was probably similar to many militia runs mustered throughout man's history..

It piques my interest to participate in a mock battle.. I'm going to check with my buddy the curator and see if he knows of any in the wintertime..

thx!
=D

Server Maintenance Party: Battle for Eastern Plaguelands {WoW}

Aug 18th 2010 1:45AM yo! thx for the event.. It might've been better to not require streaming video alongside WoW to see what was going on.. bandwidth is an issue for some..

I showed up 1/2 hour late leveling a DK, and made it to the one tower Robin missed, but had no idea what was going on.. I got 0 towers.. 0 hk. 2 hours of DK leveling and another hour of nothing.

Seemed like a whole army doing nothing while I saw from streaming video afterwards the raid lead was dead more often than alive.

Use a geared 80 and assign yourself some healers when you put a price on your head!

fun fun, thx anyway

Refugee Party: Roleplay server maintenance event {WoW}

Jul 20th 2010 9:47PM super nice and I'm looking forward to an actual RP cyber session..

thank you so much!

The Lawbringer: Copyrights and WoW {WoW}

May 18th 2010 10:24PM hmm..i will bump and answer myself..

The copyright could easily be fought by Blizzard lawyers for my original creation entered into their program. However. if the original copyright was not mine nor theirs, I would be in violation of the EULA, and the name point is moot - a decent CYA (cover your a$$) for them if a potential liability popped up..

My reading of the EULA was that Blizz holds their intellectual creation rights, such as for the characters of Thrall, or Arthas.. I would not think from naming an orc on their program that they would hold exclusive name copyrights on characters that I began in junior high..

I would bet if they used one of my character names in their mythology, I would have no recourse, but I don't think the EULA provides against me continuing to use it myself. At least I hope not!

Well, any brilliant legal minds dredging this article and comments?

The Lawbringer: Copyrights and WoW {WoW}

May 18th 2010 11:04AM hmm.. do I still own the copyright for a character name for a story I began 20 years before I entered it in as my character name in wow?

How about the entered character name I got from a friend, who I would say created it?

Will blizz lawyers file lawsuit if, Lord willing, I am able to publish an original work that contains these character names?

Maintenance day loot from WoW.com {WoW}

Retaliation battlegroup down again {WoW}

Jun 17th 2009 2:35PM it's crappy.. Our guild will likely be struggling to get ppl to finish naxx 25 on fri instead of probably doing it on thursday.. I'd like the option of doing something else Friday night rather than be obligated to taking a shot at a KT helm or weapon..

New Shaman totem interface revealed {WoW}

Jun 17th 2009 2:28PM being able to drop multiple totems at the same time will be quite helpful, except in the mana and location department

It should help propel the shamans in the stats department, too. Often a fight is starting and I'm dropping the second totem for melee then backing up to heal or dps.

I'll probably have one of the buttons set up for melee buffs, the other for caster buffs. I hope totem timers continues tho!

An interview with a scammer {WoW}

Jun 7th 2009 12:48PM Some of these internet thieves can and will be caught

Internet identity laws will give some of them a not so friendly visit from the FBI.

A buddy of mine in high school was 'phreaking' to get free internet long distance before the world wide web was available, and despite not being fully knowledgeable about what he was doing, the FBI logged long hours of his activities.

People doing this aren't being mischeivious or cute because the items and gold can be restored, they are messing with other people's lives in an environment where people do get caught and encounter serious trouble.
