Dec 18th 2008 2:50PM I'm not sure what's worst: a healer shortage, or the flood of ill-geared, second-spec healers we'll get once the dual specs hit...
What's cool about healers right now is that they're dedicated to that role. I consider myself a healer, even if I spend most of my time as Moonkin... The T7 I got were all Resto, and I farm Heroics with Resto gear in mind. I have a pretty decent Moonkin gear, but I figure I can DPS pretty easily with sub-optimal gear, but healing is my primary task and deserves the best gear I can get.
Does healing need to be more "fun"? I dunno... Is tanking or DPSing "fun" in themselves? They're roles in a raid or instance, and as such, I'd think the fun comes from making a significant contribution towards succeeding as a team. I have a LOT of fun healing Naxx at the moment, and I don't see what kind of fun can be added on top of that.
Dec 4th 2008 5:49PM The skinning in WotLK is insane. I almost regret having the profession.
Basically, I have an obsessive-compulsive drive to skin anything I can skin. So sometimes I get lost just skinning for minutes on end as an area with fast respawns is refilling with dead, skinnable animals. It drives me nuts.
With 450 Skinning and 445 LW, though, I'm probably going to force myself to stop. You know, enjoy the scenery for a change instead of mousing over every corpse in the hope I can skin it... *nervous sigh*
Dec 4th 2008 11:18AM What exactly are these quests telling us that we didn't already know by reading the quest log and/or Wowhead?
Simply saying "The Kalu'ak have 3 dailies, and here they are" would have been enough. I'm not sure this warranted 3 articles PLUS one article summing them up.
Nov 19th 2008 2:06PM You were the guys bitching that all your MC epics got DE'ed the second you got into Outland... Now people are bitching that Northrend is "too easy" and that you're not upgrading your gear.
Northrend is "too easy" because your T5 gear is equivalent to level 75 gear at worst. That's why the gap was there between Classic and TBC; the result is you're now OP until you hit 75 or so. Deal with it.
Likewise, not upgrading your gear is precisely what happens from bitching and whining that you tossed away your epics the second you hit Outland.
My take? Relax, vendor the greens, or use them to level your Enchanting. There'll be plenty of upgrades once you get close to 80, and especially once you start hitting Heroics.
Likewise, don't bitch about the game difficulty until you start doing Heroics at 80. Don't you remember how easy Ramparts was?! Imagine if you got to do it with level 65 gear as well.
And anyway, two months from now the people levelling mains will have created them in the post-TBC World of Warcraft, and will run Utgarde Keep with Outland greens at level 68. Ask them how they like the easy instances then.
Nov 12th 2008 10:22AM Oooooh I want this one so bad.
Oct 30th 2008 4:08PM "Miyamoto: Portal a triumph"
I'm making a note here: huge success.
Oct 28th 2008 3:15PM More Emerald Dream speculation? Holy confirmation bias, Batman... What you have so far is so thin as to be transluscent. Let's just wait for WotLK to come out; I'm sure designers are already working on the next x-pac, and they'll announce it once WotLK is in full swing and Christmas sales are behind us.
All this is creating, so far, is a vague and baseless impression that there is evidence to support ED as the next expansion... beyond speculative talk from Blizz a few years back. (Yeah, remember when they said you'd need to be level 90+ to kill Arthas?)
That being said, I *am* hoping Emerald Dream is next... Of all the possibilities announced so far, I find it's the most tempting. The Maelstrom idea is just uninteresting to me... I'm a semi-casual Warcraft player and I don't recognize any lore about it.
Oct 28th 2008 3:12PM Played Allie for 6 months. Got bored, moved to Horde. Now, it's a matter of personal choice, but I'd argue the Horde-only zones are a lot more atmospheric than the Alliance. Darnassus should be gorgeous and elf-like, and instead it's very bland. Compare this to the atmospheric Orgrimmar... Even Ironforge (my favorite Alliance city) is no match for Undercity. Silverpine Forest and Tirisfal Glades are absolutely gorgeous zones.
Now, granted, the Valley of Trials sucks compared to Goldshire.
That being said: I find I enjoy Stormwind more when I have to sneak in and kill flagged lowbies before escaping into Stockades to heal. :)
Oct 14th 2008 1:00PM First thing I'll do when logging on is cry at how broken my add-ons are... I've been reading on which ones work or not on the PTR, and some on which I heavily depend are gonna be busted bad.
Sep 10th 2008 12:23PM Not sure why this is making the news, as many companies include subtitles de facto in all their games. Ubisoft just couldn't be bothered to do it in the past, and now that they're correcting that mistake, they're trying to act like they're benefactors to the deaf community or something.
Still, good thing they're finally catching up to the rest of the industry.
