There... is a MechCommander 2. Did you mean to say 3?

MC Gold and 2 are even both free to download now.

Saints Row 'Initiation Station' pumps out over 1M characters, 24 'Gods' {Joystiq}

They said that you can download characters from the Initiation Station to be added as random people on the street. I think that's what the "Queue" button is for, if you are logged into your SR3 account while looking at the character pages.

Pre-order Battlefield 3 on Origin, get Dead Space 2 for free {Joystiq}

Sep 16th 2011 5:30PM Wait, why is this news? They ALREADY announced that Dead Space 2 was one of the games you could pick. You already pointed it out in the first posting.

These BF3 promos make no sense!

Sep 12th 2011 10:30PM It doesn't tell us the release date. How can it possibly tell us what we need to hear?!

Pre-order Battlefield 3 on Origin and get a free game {Joystiq}

Aug 15th 2011 5:48PM Amusingly, this was the EXACT SAME "limited time offer" they made to alpha testers.

Battlefield 3 won't be sold on Steam; EA claims service 'restricts our ability to directly support players' {Joystiq}

By "limit" it means in the ways you can interact. Basically they're saying that because they have to deliver everything through the Steam client they can't... I don't know. I'm not even sure what they really want to do, since I've seen a lot of games do the kind of things EA does and still work fine. Maybe just spam people with advertising e-mails, but I don't even see THAT.

Aug 6th 2011 9:45AM "As with Dragon Age 2, this is in reference to one specific part of Steam's Terms of Service agreement, which forces games to deliver DLC and patches through Steam rather than through a game-specific client."

I find this statement kind of odd. I have a number of games on Steam that use their own clients to deliver DLC or patches (see: All MMOs, Dungeons), and yet they're fine. Either EA is intentionally misreading that segment of the terms of service, or they didn't try to arrange something with Steam, since CLEARLY there's allowances for it.

The problem is that EA doesn't want to change the way they distribute their DLC, I figure. Since all of the DLCs for the games mentioned are applied through a separate installer that they apparently don't want to convert for Steam.

Blizzard: Arenas were a mistake. {WoW}

I haven't really read that myself, from the comments I've seen. GC has actually answered this topic a few times, and it's basically that they don't want PvP and PvE to be 2 separate games.

While there are some abilities that do act differently in PvP and PvE (which are pretty much just CC durations), if -everything- acted different then you might as well be playing different games. Sure it might be easier to balance that way, but it's harder on the players to jump between them.

WoW is a game that includes PvP and PvE content, and they just plain don't want to put walls between each aspect. Remember, after all, there's PvP in more then just instanced zones. It would be pretty jarring to have the entire game suddenly change just because you got attacked by another player while attacking a mob.
