Dec 16th 2009 8:52PM When I hit 80, I too was blocked. My gear was a mix of item levels 132 and 178 or so. I went to the auction house and bought whatever I could so that in each slot I had a level 174 or 178 item (plus two 200s). After that, I could queue for heroics. That was all it took - 200 or 300 gold and a trip to the AH.
Dec 16th 2009 8:49PM Anyone know what those shoulders are that Tauren has? The ones that are about 12 feet wide...
Oct 16th 2009 3:04PM UC - because it is the one city (?) where you don't get dismounted going to the bank. Staying on your mount and not having to recast it speeds up all the back and forth. What do you mean your bank alt isn't high enough to have a mount? Surely I'm not the only one who uses a discarded toon as their mule rather than a level 1 character.
Sep 3rd 2009 3:53PM Ah, now I see the optical illusion. Shame it wasn't inconceivably huge shoulderpads after all.

Aug 24th 2009 7:05PM To the people saying that Blizzard won't let that much time pass between content patches, look at history. Here are all the patches that introduced major new content (similar to Icecrown), and when they were released:
1.9 - 1/06
1.11 - 6/06 - 5 months later
2.0.1 - 12/06 - 6 months later
2.1 - 5/07 - 5 months later
2.3 - 11/07 - 6 months later
2.4 - 3/08 - 4 months later
3.0 - 10/08 - 7 months later
3.1 - 4/09 - 6 months later
3.2 - 8/09 - 5 months later
Unless Blizzard suddenly starts doing things differently than they have for the past 5 years, we probably have 5-7 months until patch 3.3, and another 6-9 months after that for 4.0. Blizzcon 2010 will likely be used to announce open beta for Cataclysm.
Aug 24th 2009 1:22PM Why is this in any way controversial? The time that elapsed between the announcement and launch of for both BC and WotLK was 15-16 months. On top of that, given the retail cycle, holiday 2010 is the most logical time for it to be released.
Sep 2nd 2008 1:09PM GoSkyWatch is a much better choice. Same features, no frame rate problems, accelerometer works in all directions, no crashes, and $2 cheaper.
Jul 28th 2008 1:32PM As Halidan suggests, this is entirely the wrong forum for this kind of material. With all due respect to the author, you don't have the context or expertise to write insightfully on the subject.
I don't get my videogame information from the Wall Street Journal for the same reason that I don't come to Massively for financial information. Stick to what you know.
Jul 7th 2008 8:09PM It's great to hear that I'm not alone in liking to level. Unfortunately, I think you and I are in the minority. There's a satisfaction to leveling I don't get with accruing faction or gold, and since I can't really commit to the schedule needed for raiding or doing anything other than mostly soloing, the game has definitely lost its luster - only Lich King will get me back, at even then, only for a while.
