Is it time to kill pure DPS? {WoW}

Sep 3rd 2011 10:23AM I'm in your boat.

My favorite class is a Shaman, and I enjoy dps'ing. I started a tanking class to try out tanking. Turns out, I LOVE tanking.

But I didn't like the paladin. So leveled a Druid tank. Still loved tanking, but not the Druid. Rinse/repeat on a warrior. Sane result.

End result is I'm looking for a new game with a tanking class I can get into. If Shaman could tank I'd be all set. Instead, I unsubbed.

Leave DPS for the people who love it - but create the option for people that like a certain class to play that class how they want.

During my learning to live tanking, I was chain rolling 5-10 instances per day per tank. That's a lot of faster queue times for people who just want to Dps.

Let my shaman tank and I'm back in the DF letting Dps players play what they want to play - everyone's happy.

Totem Talk: Why enhancement AOE doesn't work {WoW}

May 21st 2011 6:15PM Simplest way is to have an enh talent that buffs magma totem to respectable aoe Dps, since you are up front in the AOE packs anyway.

It would have to be balanced in such a way that it doesn't do more damage than searing totem (as you don't want people dropping it on St fights).

Simplest, maybe not the best way.

May 8th 2011 7:51AM Blizzard has been making WoW less necessary to log in every day (VP changes, etc). Any chance they will continue this "quality of life" improvement into tradeskills? I herb/alchemy on an alt and make 500g a day by getting 15 Volatile life and AH'ing the transmute and herbs collected while doing so (in 10 minutes a day). Any hope they'll give tradeskills cooldowns 7 per week instead of the current midnight reset?

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: One warrior's view of the Call to Arms {WoW}

May 7th 2011 5:39PM I can't raid, but I have 3 raid ready toons. I also play on odd times (mornings, etc) so my life is spent in LFD.

My tank is fully 353'd and 359'd but my sole means of progression (until 4.2 with new crafting recipes, etc) is Valor Points. So, I run the ransoms until I get my points then shelve the tank until Tuesday rolls around.

CtA does nothing for me either. I WOULD tank more there, if CtA aligned with my goals. Gold and pets don't work for me - and guaging by the return of 35 min Dps Queues, not for many.

Give me Extra VP, and I'll tank all week long. As is, I get my runs in and retire until the weekly reset.

The Lawbringer: Let's read Activision Blizzard's 2010 10-K annual report {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2011 5:34PM I wish they would still report where the subs came from, like they used to. At one point it was 3M in NA, 2M in Europe, and the rest in Asia. They stopped reporting where the subs were around the 10M mark, and some seem to suggest in doing so it's to cover up reductions in NA/EU and the big gains in Asia. (where they pay far less for access).

Either way, total subscriptions would be an incredible number to know,and kudos to Blizz for the high numbers :)

Shifting Perspectives: Tanks, bribes, and player behavior {WoW}

Apr 12th 2011 5:16PM Heroics are already faceroll a la Wrath now. This coming from a new tank who only rolled a tank because I hated 45 min q times on my main. CC isn’t required anymore for over 90% of the pulls.

Also, having solely levelled through LFD, my experience of the douchebaggery level makes me think it’s highly exaggerated – maybe 1 out of every 10/15 groups face any sort of challenge or jerks in today’s Cata heroics. Maybe I am just extra tolerant and/or lucky :)

I’m at the gear stage now (as a non raider) that I only need VP to progress – so I only run 1 per day. Give me more VP and I’ll run as many times per day as I have for time. This would make tanks gear faster, but wouldn’t that solve slot if the perceived headaches undergeared or inexperienced players claim to have in LFD anyway?

The Lawbringer: Fighting the gold fight -- the world as it is {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 8:47PM Assign maximum values to every item in the game. Epic 359 chest? $3000 gold. The mats to make that chest will drop substantially. Close the economy, give everything a max value (that is reasonably low), and there's no need or profit in gold selling.

Of course, would ruin the AH game - which many people do enjoy.

Insider Trader: 7 things that should stay in Cataclysm {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 4:36PM Should be all herbs, leather, mining, etc. Some of those mats are worth more than the enchanting mats in the AH. Whenever anything is farmed in an instance, should be a greed option.

Mar 9th 2010 4:38PM Will Blizz streamline lfg systems for Cata? As someone who likes to run random heroics, PVP, and be listed in the raid browser I find it odd I can't use all 3 and take the first one that pops.
