Jul 13th 2008 4:44PM I wish it were silly things like that which would make me wine. I have to ask the healers why they didn't heal me on MH trash... for the sixth time... this raid.
And the best part, the healers don't like feedback. "So you got no heals for 20 seconds while you were tanking the boss... yeah, every healer was bussy".
Jul 11th 2008 6:04AM The same can be said about warriors, as they are also hybrids. "You can't expect to dominate the PvP universe with MS, top the damage charts as Fury ánd be the best boss tank".
I for example play a paladin. I didn't start it because I wanted to tank, but I do expect that if I spec protection I will be just as good a tank as a warrior or druid.
Jul 10th 2008 7:57AM I remember how they wanted to "fix" retribution burst damage by adding a -10% or -15% damage effect on forbearance. To bad they had forgotten about BoP which we can put on other people and give them forbearance as well.
I think the entire paladin community was thinking up new ways on how to nerf other people with the forbearance nerf, like chain-forbearancing mages in raids to give them a permanent -15% damage debuff.
Suddenly the -15% damage was gone, and after a while they even unnerfed Crusader Strike back to a 6 second cooldown :S
Jul 5th 2008 6:36PM Mages...Mages are Warlocks without pets.
Mages are unique. They can buff the raid with some very good buffs like AI and Ampl. Magic, increasing the healing taken of a raid by a bit, or decreasing the spelldamage taken by a bit for the entire raid.
They also have the best most reliable CC in the game which no other class has and they can become immune every 5 minutes for 10 seconds.
They have a wide choice of AoE damage attacks as well has single target nuke spells. Their spells can also give additional benefits like slowing down your enemy or giving lots of trash debuffs.
Don't get me wrong, I think mages are in need of some fixing. They are supposedly king of AoE dps, but in fact are not. But don't make it look like mages are complete crap, absolutely broken and everyone taking a mage is a fool because he could have taken another class which is better for the job.
Mages for example are the only classes besides paladins that can AoE CC reliable. For example: You can freeze 30 mobs at the same time and then slow them.
"Our role is absolutely replaceable in every way."
Well, more classes have that. Paladins for example are not really needed on any fight either. Bubble won't win a boss kill, neither does plated healers or AoE tanking (except maybe on 1 boss or so?)
I do think changes must be made to make mages the clear king of AoE damage, but mages are pretty good already.
Jun 29th 2008 8:47AM Paladins got told, just like 9 months ago at Blizzcon, that retribution gear will be changed. Currently retribution paladins use mainly warrior gear, with some items that are warrior gear with a bit intellect on them. In WotLK we have been said that we can look forward to... using warrior gear.
I myself play a protection paladin. They only thing I've heard so far that will change for me is my gear. They said they wont make gear that is only usable for 1 spec, so that means all my plate with spelldamage gear will be removed. If WotLK would go live now, I wouldn't be able to tank anymore \o/
Jun 6th 2008 5:36AM I'm a tank myself, but I rarely use the armory to check if people are good enough for said heroic. I pay a lot of attention though, at how people ask me if I want to join.
If people just throw an invite at me, or ask me "tank??" then usually it's a no go. That said, I don't do heroics for the gear or the badges, I go there to have some fun. Meaning that I can be very selective of who I go with.
May 26th 2008 8:53AM I would like an addon that draws a circle around me that shows for example till where I can cast spells on someone, or from which range I would pull a -set level- mob.
Apr 25th 2008 1:38PM The 40% extra damage to CS is as from what I've read a fix, not a buff. When you use SotC, you gain 400ish AP, attack 40% faster but your attacks deal 40% less damage. This also happened to CS, only you can't use CS 40% more often. Thus, this resulted in CS's that did 40% less damage.
They fixed this by letting Crusader Strike do 40% more damage when you use SotC. CS does do more damage when you use SotC, because of the extra AP from the seal, but the damage increase is not 40% of what your crusader strike does right now.
That would be 400ish/14 * 3.3 extra damage on your CS when you use SotC.
Apr 21st 2008 7:09PM I sure can solo every quests there is with my paladin (prot), but it takes a loooong time. My burst as retri is great, but I have to eat / drink a lot.
Now I've been leveling an enhancement shaman, level 64 at the moment. I take quite some damage, so I have to heal after every 1-3 mobs, but I never go out of mana. And when I'm lucky, I even one-shot mobs. This feels like how I would like retribution to be: Good enough heals, good dps, never ending mana.
Mar 31st 2008 10:07AM I like C'thun as a boss better then Illidan, but if you would level the playing field, giving them just about equal damage and health then Illidan would probably win.
C'thun does more damage if the raid he fights makes more mistakes. Although, if they are both smart then C'thun could just not eat Illidan which would reduce his damage taken by a lot which would probably lead to C'thun's victory.
I'm not quite sure about Illidan's victory though. With all the adds Illidan summons C'thun's Eye Beam might just finish it really fast if it goes past, say, 20-25 adds and then to Illidan.
