Scattered Shots: Wrath of the Lich King starting zone upgrades, Part I {WoW}

Nov 20th 2008 1:41PM For those wondering how to determine upgrades as more and more items come available to you, there is simple hierarchy you can go by for stats. You lose stat% from your "rating" stats, i.e. hit, crit, haste, etc... These are the things to look to increase as you level.

Hit - Always try to keep your hit around 5-6% for leveling and normal instances. This also transfers to your pet, which is important for holding aggro. This is by far the most important stat for any DPS class (until capped) and also the most ignored stat by most players.

Crit - This a fairly important stat for BM hunters that do not have talents to buff this stat. Depending on how you are spec'd, crit plays a key role in persoanl and pet DPS. Crit takes a large hit in the upper 70s and at 80

Agility - The old staple of hunter stats. Added AP and Crit.

Your attack power will naturally increase (depending on how you are spec'd) and it is budgeted on almost every item you will have the chance to get. Stacking AP and Crit before you have raised your hit % is counter productive....especially for a BM hunter.

Scattered Shots: What we didn't get {WoW}

Oct 9th 2008 1:36PM No offense, but the 'Scatter Shots" column is quite a contrast to the "BRK" blog. I have enjoyed reading this blog at times, but it has been mainly geared to the casual hunter and totally up my alley. But, given all the things hunters have seen this expac our class the one thing that is important to remember is we got a lot of 'attention."

The things you have spotlighted in this post is mainly water under the bridge. I do agree that it sucks for us to not have a completely working SV tree (41 pt talent) and our traps "break on damage" mechanic reverted over a silly thing like straying pets. But, the overall outlook going into the expac (for PvE/raiding) is bright and something to look forward to honestly. We really need to rely on blogs/columns like this one and "BRK"s to focus on the hunter class and not to whine over things that will not change.

Again, this is not meant to be offensive, but we seriously should be looking forward to the expac release at this stage and not harping on negative crap like Black Arrow?? or Bear Trap?? One was datamined and never intended to be implemented, and the other was removed (changed) a LONG time ago.

I believe we will see some changes on the PvP front for hunters in the relatively near future. Hunters mainly just need a more effective means of mitigating focus fire (magic/spell mitigation) and a much better mana regen mechanic. Both of these topic have been addressed by GC on the beta forums, which is very promising.

Guess it goes to show that some people are never going to be satisfied or happy with their present situation regardless of the things done to improve it.

Officers' Quarters: Friends or content {WoW}

Sep 29th 2008 1:17PM I don't understand why someone "HAS" to join another guild to be a 'fill-in." If this other guild is solely going use this dude to fill-in on weekends, just stay under your current guild tag. No ones skills are going to improve just because they begin wearing a raiding guilds .

Also, I have gone thru this dilemma before also. The bottom line imo is what is going to make you happy the most to feel like you getting most for your $15/mo. Hell, Vent is free and you could hang out with friends that way. We typically play this game for achievements and those achievements come in the form of loot and content progression (PvP titles also).

Zul'Aman bears to disappear with next content patch {WoW}

Sep 3rd 2008 10:37AM Tbh, I think the surprise change for the 3.0 patch release to remove the ZA bear mounts is crappy for those guilds/groups actively trying to get one. But, on the other hand, I am kind of glad to see it going away because of all the 'Paid Runs" happening lately. People are paying to get a trophy mount they have no business riding since they lacked the skill and/or assertiveness to do it on their own.

So, sorry to those legit players trying to get a bear....hope it happens soon for you.

All the scrubs that paid for a bear mount or are currently trying to buy their way into an achievement like the Timed ZA Run...you are no better than the people that try to buy a better golf game thru expensive clubs, clothes, etc...in the end you still suck !!

Wrath storage solutions {WoW}

Jul 23rd 2008 2:48PM Another possible option Blizz might re-visit to house Badges and Tokens is an adapted Key Chain. Just a little extra bag automatically added to our UI that auto expands as more items are placed into it and will only accept specific items.
