RAGNAROS! WHYYYYYYY! We've been wiping for about 4 raid nights on this guy. Our best shot got him to 11% (he retreats at 10). So, next raid night is Monday...
Feb 11th 2011 8:14AM My first Heroic was Halls of Origination. The group was very competent, aside from me. I found myself going OOM, struggling to keep up and being notably below performance. Once I removed all the gear from my bags that was actually boosting my average ilvl to that of a Heroic, I realized that my failures were earned.
I hit Normals, and rep like I meant it and did much better once appropriately geared.
Jan 8th 2011 9:01PM How lucky am I? Lets just say I have the Ultramarine Battle Tank from Archaeology.
Oct 30th 2010 8:32AM Someone had to heal in the group of 4 I started with. I drew the short straw.
Jan 23rd 2010 6:51PM "FOGOOG!"
This simple, and silly term became our rallying battlecry as we charged into a boss, or a large group of trash, or... pretty much anything. How it came to be was because of an impatient Moonkin trying to type Gogogo! Oh how I miss Fogoog.
The same guild brought us the congratulatory comment of 'Crabs'. At one point, I mentioned over vent that someone sounded like they had said 'Crabs' instead of 'Grats'. As a result, it caught on to tell people Crabs for getting loot.
Finally, there's the Priest who got the nickname Voidzone. Sarth 3D. Use your imagination to figure out how he got that nickname =)
Dec 19th 2009 8:53AM As a healer, who generates mana through happy thoughts and photosynthesis, I appreciate Steamedclams about as any healer can appreciate any tank. One night, I was happily PuGging away, and suddenly I found that I was having to RUN and SPAM and then RUN again. There was no time for looting. There was no time for drinking. There was only running and fighting, and dying. Had SO MUCH FUN! I had never known that HToC could be cleared before the random instance timer expired, before Steamedclams and guildies showed me that it could be done.
Feb 22nd 2009 9:37AM At present, the game isn't tuned for the casuals OR the hardcore.
At the moment, it's tuned for the people who play a little bit of everything, and aren't particularly interested in anything. The super-casual gamers. The ones who have a little time, so they do a daily or two, see a PuG forming, join in, and do raids.
No, raids aren't for true elitists, but they should at least be for raiders. It's the endgame. There has to be something.
At present, it feels like there won't be another expansion, and Blizzard are almost done with the WoW project. They can't really be bothered to keep up balance anymore.
Jan 31st 2009 7:59PM Removed "Brew of the Year" as criteria for the "Brewmaster" meta achievement.
Got as far as that before I decided it was fake.
However, it's an amazingly GOOD fake. Thorough as, well thought out in most places, and extremely comprehensive.
Jan 29th 2009 4:32PM I'm a pranker, not a prankee. I can usually see them from a mile off. SUch an example is when a guildie wanted me to take a ride on his Mammoth on Dalaran. I jumped on, and off we went to the sewers. "I know this route" I thought to myself as we headed down the exit pipe. Sure enough, he jumped out, and dismounted in the air (he's a Druid).
Falling, falling, falling, parachute cloak. I thanked him for the ride, lol'd at his fail, and went back to Dalaran.
(Over vent) "Can someone help me with this Mage table?" /cast Portal Theramore
Alternately, you can pretend to be a lock and ask for help with a summon, throwing up a portal. Timing is everything.
Jan 24th 2009 8:33AM An idea that I and a couple of my friends like is an achievement (possibly title too) for leveling 4 professions to 450.
The idea fluttered between 3 and 4, before we finally decided on 4, which would necessitate leveling a crafting profession, as well as the easy ones.
