Jul 8th 2010 4:27PM Not sure what other hunters think, but we have a lot of abilities and, if you're anything like me, you like having all those on your bars for when those rare situations arise. After looking at other classes and seeing how paladins have a bar for their auras, druids have one for forms, even rogues and priests have one for stealth and shadowform (and that's just one skill!) I always wondered why we didn't get a bar for our aspects.
If that's all you're looking for, check out "Cirk's Aspects." It simply gives us a bar for all of our aspects like those other guys. Be aware that it's been giving a LUA error for the past couple months cause it hasn't been updated by, presumably, Cirk but there is a fan made update that's working just fine for me.
Mar 18th 2010 9:46AM One thing I'm curious about is the Cat's Rake ability. You said it only really helps out Rogues, but I was wondering how much closer is the gap between Cats and Wolves if you have a feral Druid in the group who keeps up Mangle? That's an additional 30% damage to all bleed effects. Would that make the Cat at least a little bit closer to the Wolf then?
Great article like always. Keep 'em coming!
Mar 5th 2010 6:38PM I'm all for the buff, here's how I see it:
I'm part of a fairly casual guild that has a 10 man team (working on a second and a 25). We aren't hardcore, we do what we can but we're never at the cusp of current raiding. Some of us could easily leave the guild, join a raiding guild, and get the content done, but I like the people I play with and want to raid with them. This buff is allowing us to do it.
We had been stuck at Rotface for about 3 weeks, getting him down more and more each time , but unable to get that perfect run. This past week with our 5% buff saw it. Sure, we could probably clear all of this stuff eventually without the buff, but this is just allowing us to do it a little quicker and with much less hassle. Our 25 attempt is definitely going to benefit from it, I can tell you that much.
Will we ever be able to do heroic modes? No. So people who take this as a point of pride, do heroic modes. I'm fairly certain this buff doesn't carry over to that, but I could be mistaken. So the best guilds will still be the best guilds, but Blizzard just wants us to see this content. No developer wants to create content for the general public that 98% of them won't see firsthand.
Feb 26th 2010 9:50AM I love achievements. I go for all that are humanely possible. The ones I'm missing the most are 25 mans (my guild doesn't really get to that content too much, let only achievements in 25s) and PvP (slowly but surely working on my BG ones, but I hate arenas so those are never gonna happen).
With that said, there's only one type of achievement I have problems with. While I highly congratulate anyone that's earned it in the past, achievements like "Herald of the Titans" irk me a bit compared to other dungeon achievements. For example, my guild isn't the top end in raiding. We're only working on Rotface right now and never even finished the last two bosses of Ulduar (let alone hard modes). But since we're working on ICC right now our gear is much, much better than it was during Ulduar. Whenever we go back (say for the weekly or something) we knock out achievements with ease. I have no doubt we'd be able to do most of the hardmodes to unlock Algalon now. But "Herald of the Titans" will always elude us. None of us have saved a set of 219-226 ilevel gear. So while most achievements in dungeons become easier with better gear, this one will slowly get more and more impossible for developed guilds.
Dec 11th 2009 1:46PM I know what you mean. Doing it the second time (first time we bugged it and got on the other side of the wall >.
Dec 1st 2009 4:23PM I swore I heard something about two new flight paths being added to the old world. I think it was a Horde-only flight path and a neutral one, but I can't find this information anywhere now. Can anyone confirm or deny this? And if it is really is it happening in 3.3?
