More on dual specs at Blizzcon {WoW}

Oct 8th 2008 5:23AM I hope for ease of changing spec on the fly, but I'd be fine with PvE and PvP spec change (that Doug DeJulio stated). Since they implement spellpower (what means healers will be doing considerable dps as healing spec and gear) and changing threat based tanking into more dps based tanking (means tank spec will do more dps with medium +threat, instead of low dps with high +threat). So all and all I think whatever spec changing ability they give us should be working better than it is now.

Breakfast Topic: Titles! Titles! Titles! {WoW}

Sep 2nd 2008 4:59AM Most titles in WOTLK are just too easy to obtain and will be like "... of the Shattered Sun", meaning people will point and laugh at them.
Working on "Conqueror" myself and hoping to hit it during September. Since I like the PvP aspect in AB and WSG, its not a boring grind for me but a competitive way to pass time while I'm online. And this title is quite rare due to honor farmers generally just sitting in AV and lots of people dislike WSG.
I'm over 10k into Revered with AB and over 12k with WSG, so about 100 wins of AB and 85 of WSG to go. BG weekends will cut those numbers by -20. :)

Ask WoW Insider: How to PuG Heroics {WoW}

Aug 28th 2008 3:27AM I was a feral tank, geared well enough for 25mans. Finding a group was a piece of cake. I used to run a lot of PuGs, lots of people pointed out I was the best tank they have ever played with. Now I'm specd resto, cause I want to do arenas but arena as feral with 300+ latency is like learning how to juggle with chainsaws.
Since I play only few hours a day, the constant respecing isn't really my thing the 50g isn't the problem, I just hate rearranging my UI every time I respec (it takes a good 15-20 minutes to get to the only druid trainer and shoving macros into correct slots etc, there isnt enough space to carry all sets of gear around, so I have to go to the bank and place and withdraw the gear) and the switching between full tank and healer roles is frustrating too.

So on the topic, what I hated in PuGs:
One of the most hated things is when I run into people, who don't have the key to the heroic we are about to do and only when everyone are summoned and ready to go, they are like "oh shit, I can't get in". When not in group farm the reputation. Make sure you have the heroic key! Up to some time I was willing to wait for the person to go buy the key, lately I just started kicking them and getting replacement.

I also don't like when some hunters don't know how to execute what they are asked to do, don't know how to kite, don't follow the kill order (altho I always mark and explain), try to win DPS race and forget to CC, haven't learned their abilities and think they know better than that. I met a hunter, who did not train Feign Death and said he did not need that.

I have nothing against a hunter class, few good players with hunter toons that I know are godly, they know their abilities and adapt quickly to the situation changes. Their keep their MD ready, their DPS is top notch, they can kite forever and they never let their CC go to one shot a healer and they do all that with great attitude.

So to sum up - you need to know your class well, read up on it, you need to play well but don't be overconfident. Being modest and playing well will quickly raise your reputation through the roof. If you play well and act like an a-hole, some people will /ignore you nomatter how good you are.
Push for high DPS, but make sure you know that proper CC and not pulling aggro > DPS.

Some remarks on drop rates {WoW}

Apr 30th 2008 4:01AM Since 2.4 I've been doing those Supply Bag quests. I heard from guildies they have got like 7 badges from 30 bags and so on. I've opened about 80 bags. Every time I hoped to get that extra badge and so far and all I've got is 2 badges.I stopped counting on extra badges from the bags. They are so rare drop for me that I mostly don't even do the quests in shat anymore unless I really have nothing better to do. Doing that huge circle to finish all 4 of them is only clogging my bags with useless lvl 68 greens. I rather hit 8 dailys on QQ island, make 100g in about 30 minutes by doing so and run heroic daily for guaranteed 5 badges or more (depends on the boss count).

My personal badge drop rating from bags is around 2,5%. Not enjoying that.

Forum post of the day: Keep your E-sport out of the Battlegrounds {WoW}

Apr 24th 2008 7:26AM Stop whining you people. This is great change.

What the hell are you talking about?

"new mechanic is unfair and forces people to play in the arena in order to truly enjoy the battlegrounds." Whaaa.

Guess what? If you enjoy BGs you should be wearing S1 or S2 after S4 rolls out. In BGs gear will not make that much of a difference, for its a team effort and if you care about 1v1 performance so much then please go duel. I don't find myself 1v1 in BGs almost ever. So if its 1v2 or 3v1 or just a big brawl, the gear will not matter so much will it?

And with new rules of Arena you won't be seeing much of S4 guys in BGs anyway, cause they are too busy in Arena trying to get rating up to buy the new gear.

So please stop QQing, S4 will be harder to get and I'm happy for it.

The Outland daily circle {WoW}

Apr 24th 2008 6:11AM While daylis are same every day and kindof a job, its a great way to earn easy gold while you can't find a group for heroic or whatever you prefer to do.

When I log on I LFG in guild, if I can't get something going, I check what my friends are doign and if nothing interesting is up - I do daylis. Just 10 on QQ island give me 100g easily. And it takes about 30 minutes to do them if the drops of ore and remnants are ok.

I'm doing pretty much the same circle as Daniel, but clockwise and in SMV I only do Kill them All! and collect armaments, for other daylis just take too much time in there. I'm not always doing all of them and if I don't have much time I just try to do the ones that help to take my server to next Phase.

One reason tanks won't PuG {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2008 3:15AM Words cannot describe how pathetic Primula's move was.

I'm a druid tank myself. And as every tank knows, after 2.4 the Commendation is almost every tank's wet dream. I haven't had the chance to hit heroic MrT yet, but I think I will try to get a group going for it on upcoming days.
And I feel for the poor tank that got screwed so badly, if a clothie would Need roll that away from me... *shivers* ...the vendetta I would unleash upon this guy... I'm glad to see tho that he dug hes own grave by posting that in forums, creating epic gem that went on for 500 posts.

On the topic.
I roll with PuGs sometimes, cause there are times when I can't find group and LFG in city or trade channel (yes there are times on my server when even a tank finds it hard to group up).
Yeah, mostly its disappointing and sometimes its horrible! But, to semiquote Forrest Gump: "PuG is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.". I've made some good players in PuGs, added them to friends and group with them now and then.

Goes without saying tho that mostly I prefer going into heroics with my guildies or at least with people I've grouped before. Especially because of guys like Primula.

Breakfast Topic: The best time to play {WoW}

Apr 21st 2008 9:26AM I'd have to say anytime I'm online is best time to play. If its evening its easy to get groups going. If its night I like to fight in BGs against those nosleep geared out enemies. If its morning, its good time for farming or dailys. I manage to play no more than 2-4 hours a day, so any time I'm online - I try to make the most of it.

Ask WoW Insider: What to do at level 60? {WoW}

Apr 21st 2008 9:18AM At some realms the 60 PvP is still very competitive (with people having lvl 60 twinks). I know I spent my fair share of time in 60 WSG, AB and AV (got enough honor out of there to buy me full Gladiator's set once I got to 70).

As for 60 raid... well I think I have to agree with Mark. Its mostly dead. 40 mans are history, they require far too many people to gather in first place and now the requirement is even harder - you have to get 40 people who either don't have expansion or have one but willing to push aside fat lewts and come to the 40man for just good old times sake.

Forum post of the day: Murphy's Law {WoW}

Apr 18th 2008 5:04AM Murphy is kicking in my gaming for sure. I'm Feral druid. Lots of times I've searched for group within my guild and PuGs outside of it (to tank or dps) when I log on and I can't find anything. And when I've played solo (BGs, dailys, the usual routine) for several hours and about to log out, I get 2 or 3 whisps like "Can you tank this for us?" or "we just need 1 dps to go". >_
