Jun 11th 2009 5:23PM This is just another name for a complex DKP system.

For example, we award DKP for ontime, and 3 checkpoints, with bonuses for extraordinary effort or goals accomplished. So we reward success, participation, and dedication (we even reward DKP to players who get subbed out of raids due to balancing). We then have bidding rules for main specs, offspecs, and even sidegrade items (for classes without an offspec, for example). Every rule has a reason behind it, and it creates an incredibly fair, organized, non-biased system.

This sounds like just another DKP system to me.

Mar 17th 2009 8:57PM never ever ever ever ever use exorcism in the middle of your standard tanking rotation. it is a threat loss over EVERY OTHER possible alternative.

less threat than judgement (well, close, but judgement buffs the mob, and provides mitigation through the badge libram)
less threat than holy shield
less threat than consecrate
less threat than avenger's shield
WAY less threat than hammer of the righteous and shield of righteousness.

the only time a paladin tank should use exorcism is to single target pull, or pull a multitarget group is avenger's shield is down.

exorcism is not a spell that should be mentioned at all in the context of "squeezing it into your rotation".

Jan 21st 2009 7:46PM Doubling the numbers of variables in an equation makes it exponential tougher to solve.

Removing Arenas from live realms, and creating separate trees to balance for soley pvp, and keeping separate trees for pve/bg's would actually LESSEN the complication of class balancing (and by a substantial degree), not make it harder.

Dec 19th 2008 1:49AM If you're not able to rip threat off any other tank in the game as a prot paladin, you're bad, horribly bad. My largest problem is pulling threat when I'm watching sparks on Malygos, or similarly distracted, and I haven't looked at Omen in 15 seconds. At this stage of the game, prot paladin threat is far and beyond other classes, and I find it interesting that Blizzard made the specific point that this wasn't a nerf to paladin threat, if they weren't already aware of the inbalance that IS paladin threat.

In Archavon Heroic, after he lunges at me, and my threat gets wiped, I make it a point to return to #2 on the treat table through pure damage. And I almost always accomplish this.

Oh, and my record ShoR today, 12729, non modified by anything other than raid buffs. Block Value is your friend.

Oct 17th 2008 10:52AM Turning on Righteous Fury also activates an additional 1.43 threat modifier, same as bear form or defensive stance. This is the compensation for removing blessing of salvation from the game. It ends up exactly equal if dps would have a .7 threat modifier, in terms of relative threat production.

So the spell now includes, without any points in it, 1.9 for holy and 1.43 for everything. But skipping it is out of the question. It is one of the best damage reduction talents in the entire tree.

Mar 9th 2008 2:49PM It is NOT the MT's job to interrupt. It is the dps warriors/rogue job to interrupt. Your tank's job is to hit shield block and build threat. Every GCD should be devoted to threat.

If its NOT a threat sensitive fight, the warriors should wear MORE mitigation gear, and still devote every GCD to threat.
