Jul 17th 2010 2:56PM Really?
How about this then?
quote from the FBI:
to never give out identifying information such as their name, home address, school name, or telephone number;
So i think the FBI disagrees with you and agrees with David

You've obviously never had your identity stolen. Never had the IRS freeze your bank account and garnish your ENTIRE income for back taxes for a job you NEVER worked in a state you NEVER lived in. You've never had to look at your wife as she struggles to pay the bills on a single income because even though you work 40-50 hours a week, you're not contributing to the household financially. You've never had to look your kid in the eye and apologize for the crappy birthday they just had because your income was being held by the IRS for an additional six months, even though you had proven to them that it wasn't you that had worked there but some illegal who had long since skipped town. And you probably didn't lose your house because of it all.
I did. My identity is MINE! i didn't sign that away when I agreed to the TOS. And neither did my wife and kids sign up for those risks when I signed upt o pay a video game.
Blizzard still has not fixed the bugs with the addon language that allows for Real Id to be displayed in game for people who are NOT your Real ID friends...and what exactly is a "reputable addon" vs and unreputable one?
Blizzards nonchalant attitude towards all of this has convinced me to BOYCOTT ALL ACTIVISON BLIZZARD games in the future. My accounts have been canceled and I strongly urge all of you to do the same before Blizzard put your financial and personal well being at further risk.
Jul 9th 2010 4:55PM They backpedaled because of all the canceled accounts. I canceled all of mine and they will stay canceled. The Real ID issue is not the sickness but a symptom. Blizzard was willing to put real names out there even though they knew all of the objections prior to making the announcement. Yet, they went ahead despite the dangers it would place their customers in simply to post on their forums. That is immoral where I come from.
Nothing has changed.
Jul 7th 2010 10:18AM While the idea that Real ID could end trolling is interesting, though misguided, there is a stigma associated with playing online games. Using a persons real name allows for google to seek out posts by that person.
I am very careful what I put on Facebook and have been considering deleting my facebook account altogether. I absolutely HATE what Real ID has become and am considering canceling my accounts. My online ID's are my alias' I dont want others to know who I am for a reason. Its very very easy to find someone in real life and use their internet presense against them.
As soneone who fought hard against an identity theft a few years ago, this whole thing has me rethinking Blizzard completely.
May 11th 2010 9:34PM Winning would be quite nice.
Apr 21st 2010 10:50PM Now if only Blizzard would apply that same ban hammer to trade chat morons and botters.
Apr 10th 2010 7:20PM @Kvothe
I see that point. But does it make sense to spend all those points in frost to get a 5% buff to non frost spells?
All three tress are already getting a damage buff as their first mastery ability. This additional buff seems more like Blizzard saying," We cant think of a truly interesting way to break up the frost rotation so well just give all other spells a buff to make you do something else."
It feels like they gave up.
Apr 10th 2010 7:15PM Mana Adept will also have unskilled Dungeon Finder mages jumping into their strongest DPS right from the start before the tanks have clearly established threat. With all the changes happening to tanking in Cata, I think this is only going to add to that particular issue. The issue wont be as big a deal in Raids because players will communicate with each other there better. But in the RDF, Ive met a ton of DPS that think its best if they do all the pulling or start hitting with their hardest DPs before the tank has even touched all the mobs in a group.
I wont say that this is a bad change but I have very real concerns about the changes they are making to mages here. Deathfrost seems illogical, mana adept feels wrong all around, and the aracane missles change will actually hinder mages when they are faced with mobs that are immune to their specced school of magic. I often use arcane missles to deal with water elementals when leveling as frost ( many moons ago ) Its a shame to see it become a proc only spell when it had so much utility for me when I was leveling.
Apr 10th 2010 7:09PM Bvannas,
I have to agree with nonentity here. I dont think it makes frost more "interesting" to give a buff to everything but frosts mainstay. Interesting is definitely not the word I would use to describe it.
I mean really does it makes logical sense to spec deep into frost to get a buff to non frost spells?
Someone explain this logic to me.
Apr 10th 2010 6:13PM slice_sadic,
"and where on Azeroth did you really see a Dps shaman, Boomking drood, Ret paladin or a Shadowpriest Saving a RAID with his healz"
I'm only going to speak to this ONE point and this one point ONLY!
I have a Ret pally that raids with me that is directly responsible for our first Deathwhisper kill. We were still learning the mechanics of the fight and both healers went down with her still at 20%.
The Ret paladin started throwing heals on me ( also a paladin ) and between his heals and my lay on hands we were able to finish the fight.
here's the video:
Theres been many times where our Shadow Priest ( who doesnt raid with us everytime ) has throw a backup heal and in my opinion saved us all from doom as well.
So the utility a DPS who can heal is very viable, in my opinion.
