Sep 27th 2009 8:43PM Blood elf to tauren paladin.
Aug 30th 2009 5:20PM @ Khremloc: I don't think there will be a drop in the blood elf population, or that Blizzard is even looking to create one. Blood elves are getting a new class, which is more than can be said for draenei.
Aug 30th 2009 4:19PM To everyone claiming that gnomes got "screwed over," let me say this: At least your favorite race (well, favorite race on one side, anyhow) GETS a new option.
I still maintain that draenei should have gotten druid (which would have been easy enough to explain off). Give worgen shaman or paladin or something...or better yet, start the new races off with seven classes each and let worgen pick up druid in some later expansion or even some later patch. (The new lore behind why they get it—and why they're being added in the first place—seems painfully contrived. No one who likes it gets to gripe about the "draenei retcon" any more.)
Aug 23rd 2009 10:11PM Not much.
The new expansion pack is not impressive so far. Completely revamping Azeroth? I suppose that's cool. Flight in Azeroth? Nice. But that said...
Let's see...new races. One is utterly unimpressive; the other, just...poorly timed.
New class choices...for every race EXCEPT draenei. And cheap excuses for why draenei don't get one. (Note: humans, blood elves, and trolls all have just as many classses). And the explanation that other race/class combos get is "Wouldn't it be cool?" (And with two exceptions, the answer is "not half as cool as draenei druids.")
Stat changes? Yeah, they're okay; makes things simpler. Whatever. Some of the class changes, though...just kind of pointless.
And don't get me started on the rumors about Horde leadership. Just...don't.
Aug 23rd 2009 10:08PM "Too many classes" is itself an invalid excuse, as humans, trolls, and blood elves all have just as many. As for the lore excuse? Draenei druid lore would be at least as easy to contrive as their excuses for playable worgen.
Blizzard...just hire me. I'd have to telecommute for the time being...but I'd be just as effective at writing lore as your current idea people. Hell, I'd probably be better than some of 'em.
Aug 23rd 2009 10:02PM Even if the argument is that draenei can be too many classes, their logic still fails. Humans, trolls and blood elves all get just as many classes; all get a new option with this expansion.
They should either give draenei a new class option (druid would be easiest to explain) or not give blood elves one. Simple as that. They are encouraging people to play not only the new races, but every established race except draenei...and tacitly discouraging any re-rolling draenei.
It's more likely that someone in the development staff simply has something against the blueberries.
Aug 22nd 2009 7:09PM No new classes for draenei, because there are "too many?" Seriously...what is he smoking? Draenei are still outnumbered by both races of elf, last I checked.
Aug 21st 2009 4:12PM Well. Anyone who said that MMO-Champ was lying is eating crow. Anyone who was just hoping they were wrong...is /headdesking.
Although that troll druid looked eerily like one of my "wishful thinking screenshots."
Jun 13th 2009 7:02PM @Dan: That poster meant for lower-level toons. Travel for Horde will basically be easy-mode after this new zep is put in; Alliance still has a city that's highly inconvenient to access.
We need a FP between either the Exodar and Darnassus, or the Exodar and Auberdine.
Also, either Horde who get ported to Shatt at low levels should automatically get the FP to Thrallmar at level 40, or Alliance in the same situation should NOT get the FP to Honor Hold at that level.
May 28th 2009 1:10AM Oh, that's right...they fixed things like snake trap that could damage unflagged players. There are still always a few damn fool kids who somehow manage to get themselves flagged, even in friendly territory.
Tarren Mill, then. Varian's Alliance, remember? Even dumb as he is, he wouldn't be going after his own faction.
