Nov 15th 2009 6:55AM time to hit the pawn shop and by a cheap, used PS3.
PS3 - It just does everything a PSP accessory should do.
(totally serious about the pawn shop though, they got PS3s for like 80-100 bucks)
Nov 7th 2009 12:54AM Hey Sebastian, You can use TwitterGadget inside Google Wave.
Create a new private wave. Click on the “Add Gadgets by URL” and enter the values as “http://www.twittergadget.com/gadget_gmail.xml”"
I've been using it ever since I got into Wave, and it works wonderfully, in my opinion.
Nov 1st 2009 1:09AM PSP makes a hardware revision that merely alters the form-factor and doesn't add any further meaningful features = all of Joystiq is in an uproar and ready to tar and feather everyone associated with Sony and proclaim it to be trash, worthless, etc. etc.
Nintendo makes a hardware revision that merely alters the form-factor and doesn't add any further meaningful features = greatest thing since sliced bread, and everyone can't wait to buy it.
funny how that works.
Oct 12th 2009 7:26AM Unbelievable.
I'm utterly overexcited. I am already planning on going on ahead and either upgrading my desktop or spending the dough on a kick-arse laptop, just for this game.
I. LOVED. Planetside. Easily the most fun I've ever had in a MMO.
Platoons of 30 people air-dropping on top of a base out of multiple
Galaxies(think C-130, but airplanes), with 15 people defending the
fully-mined roof, 50 more inside the base building itself, 30-50 on
the ground outside the base fighting off the main attack force which
is attacking the main gate with everything they've got, 10 snipers on
the hill trading shots with snipers on the Base Walls, Infiltrators
trying to sneak into the base to hack the Vehicle terms, and the
Control Console, amidst all the craziness. Reavers doing missile runs
over the base, Liberators dropping bombs and avoiding Anti-Air fire
from AA MAX suits and Turrets.
Chukka-Boom Chukka-Boom = yer dead TR and VS.
3 Pounder MAXes before they switched it to Anti-Vehicle, with Engis behind them = You can't take this Tower, beeyotches.
Sniping from the top of the Crater. no more target-rich environment in Gaming history, than when there is heavy fighting in the Crater and you are standing up top looking down on it.
Infinite Bridge Battles on Cyssor.
god I loved that game so much.
It was shameful the way they killed it with their silly caverns and overpowered Gundams when what the players truly wanted was a massive base re-design. Hopefully they learn their lesson this time, and don't mess with what makes the game fun.
I can't wait for Planetside NEXT.
DO IT RIGHT this time, and KEEP IT RIGHT.
Oct 12th 2009 7:09AM LOL @ people comparing MAG to Planetside. You guys just don't know.
MAG is gonna be 256 people, split up into 8vs8 fighting, from what I know. I could be wrong.
Planetside at its peak...was 150vs150vs150 at any given time, in multiple locations. that's 3 factions of 150 people fighting each other all at the same time, in the same location.
Platoons of 30 people air-dropping on top of a base out of multiple Galaxies(think C-130, but airplanes), with 15 people defending the fully-mined roof, 50 more inside the base building itself, 30-50 on the ground outside the base fighting off the main attack force which is attacking the main gate with everything they've got, 10 snipers on the hill trading shots with snipers on the Base Walls, Infiltrators trying to sneak into the base to hack the Vehicle terms, and the Control Console, amidst all the craziness. Reavers doing missile runs over the base, Liberators dropping bombs and avoiding Anti-Air fire from AA MAX suits and Turrets.
All of which is happening at the same time, in the same area.
MAG is only a taste of what Planetside used to be.
MAG is a FPS.
Planetside was a War Game.
What killed Planetside was that stupid Core Combat expansion, and the utterly retarded BFR fake Gundam Mechs. both of those served to effectively kill the population of the game, by making a good portion of what made the game so fun(outdoor Infantry fighting supported by Vehicles) pretty much useless.
but prior to it, it was the best MMO experience I've had. and I've played just about everything, MMO-wise.
I'm definitely looking out for Planetside 2.
Sep 30th 2009 9:27PM Ummm....use MediaGo to transfer your games from the PSPGo to your PC for storage?
and then install whichever games you want to take with you at a particular time to the Go, and swap them out accordingly?
Jul 2nd 2009 4:50PM that said though...The Go eliminates the primary excuse used to justify burning ISOs.
"I hate carrying the UMD, so I burn my game to the memory stick after I buy it."
if that's the case, then buy the Go, whenever the price comes down.
should be interesting to seperate the Pirates who CLAIM they buy the games and burn them (but actually just steal the games), from the people who actually DO buy the games and then burn them.
Jul 2nd 2009 4:47PM This is a load of crap.
They only planned on going UMD-less when people started burning ISOs with reckless abandon, and they couldn't stop it.
the PSP Go is an attempt at an anti-piracy device (note: I didn't say anti-homebrew, just anti-piracy), they should just come out and admit it.
Jan 10th 2009 8:38PM You should not cover every single F2P Crap Asian grinder on the planet, no.
But I think you should cover the best of the best F2P games. The highly polished, good-looking, well-crafted ones. ignore the cheap, rip-off types.
Games like Atlantica Online and Runes of Magic deserve coverage on this site.
and incidentally, just because you have to pay a monthly fee for a game doesn't make it "AAA". Warhammer, for instance, sucks. If you are only in favor of "AAA" game coverage, then you shouldn't ever want to see Warhammer coverage here.
"AAA" should refer to the game quality, not the game developer/publisher.
Cover the best games, regardless of whether they are P2P or F2P.
Jan 10th 2009 12:28AM ""Smedley believes that those playing PS3 games aren't the same ones playing MMOs.""
and that's exactly why SOE is making a push onto the PS3. because SOE has poisoned the well on PC. MMORPG players won't play SOE's games anymore, because they go out of their way to ruin them in the most shady and unethical manners possible.
PS3 players don't know much about SOE, so they don't know SOE's reputation like the playerbase they've been constantly spitting on for the past 8 years or so does.
SOE is looking for new suckers, because the old suckers aren't falling for their crap anymore. Word of advice, PS3 players. STAY AWAY. Stay far away. When you see that SOE logo on that game box, PUT IT BACK on the shelf.
