Sep 23rd 2010 4:36AM Doesnt this make rogues a tad op in pvp, now they have shadowstep, more efffective vanish and smoke bomb. What ranged stands a chance?
Sep 20th 2010 4:41AM THis 'life grip' is a 40 yd pull in wsg! You could chain pull a flag bearer - this seems way op in wsg, but i suppose it counter balances 'dks death grip. Tug of war in wsg anyone? lol
May 4th 2010 6:03AM For many this change is the biggest change in the next expansion. We did have 40 man raids in vanilla, solid 25s in TBC and now interchanging 25 and 10s in WOLK. Now it will be either 10 or 25s. There has been a gradual down sizing of end game raiding.
I know 25 man raids are hard work , progress more slowly (usually thing are tight and it doesnt take more than 1 or two ppl doing the wrong thing at the wrong time to wipe the raid). !0 man is tighter and usually has 'team A' storming through and 'team B' struggling.
I also know that very few ppl saw end game instances let alone bosses in vanilla, slighty more in TBC and a whole lot more in WOLK.
So - lets say I m planning a MMO do I; 1) make the whole game accessable to as many as possible; or 2) say to less than 10% (or even fewer)?
Hard one that - hmm I believe 1).
Ok what will happen - everyone who can will run 10 man content, very few (maybe very very few) will try 25 man (why would they - any 25 man gear level advantage has been removed, it will be harder to organise and to succeed, unless you have 25 good consistent well class balanced players who are not locked out).
Average size of raiding guilds will halve - 10-12 mains (anymore means sitting out), 1 of each class (VoA class runs being the example), appropriately dual specced. If you are in such a guild (and there will be many probably even the majority) great. They will storm the content (unless its alot harder than ICC - and the trend has been to make insts easier). They may even move onto usling alts but eventually, unless Blizz has tons of new content streaming though, boredom will set in and they will move onto another MMO possibly as a guild.
I will be looking to a good 10 man guild - 25 man is going to be a struggle to set up and consistently run so likely to fail. I will enjoy Cataclysm but interestingly having played since release I can see me moving on - I will come back if there were more expansions but the day of never finshing the content are liekly to be well and truely over for many many more players.
Jan 9th 2010 6:38AM One issue thta still seems to dog prot warriors in PVE is our abysmal dmg. Sure a 10k+ SS is nice to see but looking at recount I am always a well last against all other tanks and as a lot of insts contain undead am sometimes 50% the dmg of the palatanks.
I may be doing something wrong (in which case give me some clues) but there is a bg gap between 6k+ dps for dmg classes and 2k dps for prot warriors. Anyone agree or do I just need to l2p?
Jun 3rd 2009 5:04PM Level 80 char = rest can start at 55 - I would like to level more classes but I simply cant face it (have 3x80s, 1x74).
Most people would level a DK over other classes because of this alone. Open it up to all classes.
May 14th 2009 5:10PM With dual specc a character is now a 'package'. As PvE warriors either tank or dps it is the strength of this combined package which shoudl be assessed not the individual parts.
The question is in terms tanking where do warriors sit with respect to other dps / tank combos?
I have tanked forever and am now dual specc fury.
With regard to tanking imo MT - all about same pala prob best,
OT - pala > DK > druid > warrior, dps - DK > pala > dru > warrior
Would be good if warriors were nest at something or even middle at everything but imo we are not.
My guild has 2 lvl 80 warriors and isnt in the market for any more.
Jan 24th 2009 6:12AM I recognise this problem all to well. With warriors we are losing this tanking game.
Pala can snap (read it above - thought it was a good phrase) agro / aoe, rez and buff - so are a shoe in to take. Drus cos of threat, aoe with new swipe, dps pretty well on bosses / not needed for tanking, buff and rez and battle rez - another good choice.
Warriors - hmm - good on single target survival (but not kings and not really that much better than others), no rez (my cables still wont work all the time), commanding shout (its ok but if you really need it you are struggling), sunder (rogues got that covered). We can dash about a lot tiding up (but 30 yd taunt put an end to the real usefulness of that). Cant dps for squat when not tanking.
So raid needs 3 tanks all equally skilled (and feral and pala can have worse gear tbh) - 4 tanks available - 2 pala 1 feral and 1 warrior - who would you leave behind? Admittedly I get to go but I feel a 'lesser tank' - 3rd best tank.
Dual spec may help - but ferals can go resto or boom, pala can go retri (best dps in our guild) or holy. Warrior can go dps.
Again who would you take?
Nov 6th 2008 5:19PM Sir Hubert Fitzroy tries not to show any fear but he is having second thoughts about the new chauffeur.
Oct 15th 2008 10:31AM Thx again BRK.
If us hunters didnt laugh we d cry ... sniff sniff, I ll be ok thx - just need some tiem.
Oct 13th 2008 2:44PM Good breakdown.
Is there anything that really helps with PvP problems hunters have.
I suspect BM/MM is the leveling build, ? BM/Surv for PvP, not sure. Any advice thta will stop me being 'easy kill' for every passing rogue, warrior, retridin, frost mage and lock?
