Ready Check: Dealing with a low DPSer {WoW}

Aug 29th 2011 12:58PM I think it's also up to the raid leader to understand what assignments he's putting DPS on and how the group is standing. As a feral, I always hate fights where I have to stand in front of the boss.
For example, our initial stratey for Cho'gall was to have everyone group up in front, with the tank, to make interupting MC'd people easier. I pleaded to be able to stand behind but to no avail. So, I slowly started strafing until I was behing Cho'gall. My DPS went up by 1500 points (so I did about half a million more damage to Cho'gall).

About the Bloggers: Robin Torres {WoW}

Aug 10th 2011 3:52PM Yay Robin! I'm sad that my husband and I won't be going to Blizzcon this year and I won't get a chance to hang out and talk with you again. :( One of my favorite moments from last year's Blizzcon was getting to hang out and talk with you at the WoW Insider party.

Breakfast Topic: Getting to know your neighbors {WoW}

Breakfast Topic: What's the best WoW-themed gift you've given or received? {WoW}

Apr 18th 2011 12:10PM I got my dad to start playing WoW several years ago. He rolled Horde - I favor Alliance. However, it hasn't lead to too many awkward family moments.

Last year for Christmas, my husband and I got him one of those really nice Horde banners from Blizzcon. He loved it.

However, our personal best was the year we wrapped a present in the Horde wrapping paper from Jinx and labeled the card to my dad's character from Thrall. My dad go super excited and started rubbing it into my mom's and brother's faces about how important Thrall was, how they didn't know who Thrall was because they don't play, etc. My dad was really raving about this present from Thrall. And then he opened it - it was Brokeback Mountain.

WoW Moviewatch: WoW Horders {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2011 12:29PM It's funny because it's true....I have multple banks alts because of all the crap I hoard in game.

Ready Check: Ranged DPS can be harder than you thought {WoW}

Mar 21st 2011 12:50PM I've always thought that in terms of DPS, melee always bear the brunt of the badness. Melee on a whole tend to have less positioning options and more movement issues. Chasing adds as a melee is a lot harder than as a ranged.

Also, Blizzard doesn't seem to favor melee heavy raids. I cannot think of a single encounter, beyond Gunship, where a raid is not screwed by being melee heavy over ranged heavy. Heck, for 10 mans currently, it's rough having more than 2-3 melee (including the 2nd tank).

The OverAchiever: The curious case of the Grey Riding Camel {WoW}

Mar 18th 2011 12:36PM Jeancy - the quest mob is phased. Even if you go to Feralas where he'd be, you won't be able to see him.

Got my camel without even meaning to. Was killing the sheep in Uldum for Critter Killer when my NPC scan pinged (still haven't gotten a single BC rare). Flew around looking for that dang camel statue forever (they are TEENY TINY). Found it, clicked on it, and freaked out when I the cyclone came. Luckily, the Camel Hoarder is super easy to kill. And I'm not even a mount collector.

Then, a few days later, found a second statue in the same spot. Called a guildie in, thinking all camel statues transported you out. Nope - his turned to dust.

What's your voice comm system of choice? {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 12:21PM After winning a 50-person Mumble server for a year at last year's WoWInsider meet-up, I haven't looked back. If I PuG and have to go to a Vent server, I really, really miss Mumble. Just wish it didn't have as many hiccups with installation.

Heart Story: One player's quest for iconic affection {WoW}
