Argent Dawn rewards during the Zombie invasion {WoW}

Oct 26th 2008 2:28PM In some place a level 58 said he had the quests, but the gear and stuff is all level 70 geared. Even the mobs.

Blizzard sadly doesnt add enough new content to the guys levelling up, but that's just the way it goes.

I'd like to see more redone content like Dustwallow Marsh's new shiny feel. Mid-20/early 30s zones need that done to them and early 40s zones too.

Skill Mastery: Zombie Explosion! {WoW}

Oct 26th 2008 2:21PM Wow, didn't realize what a text wall that was. More like a text Skyscraper.

TL;DR version:

Zombies are weak and easy to kill.

They are very easy to outmaneuver (did so multiple times on a level 1 alt, so don't try to argue that point.)

There are plenty of opportunities to get quests when the quest givers are infected or when they respawn.

The further you are from a main city or town, the less likely you'll see a zombie.

Dying to a zombie is annoying, but raging about it WONT fix any problems.

Getting ganked quickly as a zombie is annoying, but raging about it WONT fix any problems.

Quitting over the whole thing will not fix your problem either.

This is a game, and it's meant to be fun. You're idea of fun may be different than the next person, but that's a fact you have to accept.

The point of the invasion is to fight the Scourge... or to a lesser extent, help spread their will. So fight on, brave heroes, and forget not that this is just a game.

Skill Mastery: Zombie Explosion! {WoW}

Oct 26th 2008 2:09PM OK, let me be someone who will put this event in both perspectives.

When the event started, being a zombie was the coolest thing ever. It was almost like that promised "outlaw" system mentioned in the WoW manual that apparently fell through when under developement. I learned something fast as a Zombie: You're weak and vulnerable. And when this first started the disease took 10 bleeding minutes to become a zombie unless you were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice like drowning yourself or dropping off a cliff to change faster. Sometimes a Ret Paladin would show up mere seconds after my long conversion and would kill me. Quickly. And heal all the people I had infected.

That was pretty annoying. What did he have to say for himself? "Stop griefing people who are trying to level up." Now I'm not gonna go all RP on everyone here, but let's think for a second: What would a scourge zombie do? Would he be polite to people trying to level up? Would he kindly avoid popular towns to allow people to do their chores? The answer is simply: NO. And I'm quite sure that's WHY Blizzard allows you to attack anyone as a zombie. Any other way would seem fakey.

Now on the other hand, just yesterday I was doing quests in Duskwood for rep with the alliance for achievements as my level 65, the quest givers were all dead, the flight master was dead so I couldnt get out of there, and needless to say it was mildly irritating. But did I whine about something I was doing just the day before? NO. I got even. I cratered the zombies using chain lightning and my spirit wolves, and when one of them whined to me that they were having fun and I ruined it, I said "Oh well". Simple as that. I didnt whine that they were disrupting MY fun, I just got back at them and went back on my way.

In summary: with the plague hastened to 2 minutes of incubation, there is a drastic rise in Zombie population. Main cities are almost always infected completely and totally. This is a bleeding crisis. And, I may point out, it's SUPPOSED TO BE. We're not going to Northrend because we want the Lich King's Epix lewt. We're going in response to this crisis which he brought down on us. PAYBACK TIME.

AND BTW: The further away you are from a main city, or any town for that matter, the less likely you will run into a zombie. Grab what quests you need from the towns, go and do them in the solitude of the wilderness, and don't whine when some zombie manages to kill you, it won't help you, and it won't convince the zombie not to do that anymore.

It is very easy to outmaneuver zombies, which I have tested and done as a level 1. I ran through two main cities without getting touched by zombies or infected.

And Zombies: DONT WHINE WHEN PEOPLE KILL YOU. They're just getting back at you for what you did to them. *shrug*

Breakfast Topic: If you could have any spell in RL... {WoW}

Apr 10th 2008 3:55PM I have a few to choose from, but I can't decide which would be the best...

1. Misdirection. Seriously though, who doesnt wish they could direct the hate they generate to someone else?

2. Power Word: Shield. If you see someone in trouble, or someone about to get hit by something, *boof* power word shield them to protect them. Works on self as well.

3. Tree of Life. I'd be a medical miracle worker. I could walk around literally healing everyone who was wounded that I passed with HoTs.

4. Intimidating Shout. Because honestly, I just want people to fear me some days.

There're others useful, but these are the top ones.

15 Minutes of Fame: Gurubashing his way to Arena Grand Master {WoW}

Apr 8th 2008 4:50PM I wouldn't be so quick to write it off as a waste of time. Sure, the contents of the chest shouldn't be at all valuable to a level 70. However, the combat is unique in that arena. It's Free for all. Meaning: You have everyone attacking everyone in a chaotic fashion.

You might have two alliance crushing each other, and have a horde rogue come up and kill the both of them. "real" arena isn't even "real" arena. Gurubashi arena was the ORIGINAL arena.

There are two similar places to engage in true FFA combat, but neither of them are used, due to the fact that there's nothing to fight over, like in Gurubashi.

I thought the organized arena concept was cool at first, but it pales in comparison to uniqueness of Gurubashi. There're three scenarios that I typically encounter in organized arenas.

1: Two Stealthers, typically 2 rogues or 1 rogue, 1 druid. There was one instance where my team ALMOST won.
2: A healer and a DPSer. They usually win.
3: Two DPSers. These are the ones that I win most often.

I don't play 3v3 or 5v5, but I can imagine the preset standards for them. But in Gurubashi arena, there're no preset standards as to what to expect to fight. The only thing you can prepare for is 9 classes in any number of combinations, either fighting each other or you, with any number being the amount who showed up.

Gurubashi Arena > Boring 1 minute long organized arenas.

New WoW TCG wallpaper up {WoW}

Mar 12th 2008 3:13PM As a poorly geared Beastmaster hunter, I must say that yes, they must've realized that hunters (Beastmaster spec anyways) kill warlocks. In the last four months I must've fought a dozen or more warlocks 1v1 in AV battles, and only lost one, which was actually a 3v1, my team's favor. He was an odd warlock. Got enough DoTs on me before he died to kill me.

But still Big Red = No fear 4 u! And I kind of wish most warlocks would realize this in the 3 seconds it takes them to cast fear (with spell pushback)...

The Art of War(craft): Twinkage part II {WoW}

Mar 11th 2008 10:17PM A good item to shoot for in the 20-29 bracket would be the new level 29 epic ring from SM library. I don't know if it's possible to even get there before or at 29, but I thought it might be handy to know.

It's a stamina heavy ring with a decent chance when being hit effect.

Shifting Perspectives: Bear Tanking Strategies Part 2 {WoW}

Mar 11th 2008 10:09PM Druid bears rock! Seriously this is some helpful information for aspiring druid tanks. Makes me want to go out and roll a bear.
