Jan 30th 2012 1:17PM Couldn't agree with this article more. The extra effort combined with horrible tuning on blizzards part (10-man is far easier than 25-man for both normal and heroic modes) really put an end to 25-man raiding.
LFR was just the final nail in the coffin - why bother putting in any effort trying to organize people when they can see the same content in LFR for no effort? Especially with all gear being reset every patch. There is no sense of progressing your character forward anymore, just time on the treadmill.

"You can assign a few healers to remain in melee" Healers and range dps will get targeted by the cat's leaps even in melee. If they are targeted this will quickly wipe your raid.

Couldn't agree more with post #9. The lock articles have become so simplistic that they're not worth reading. There's not guide here that tells even a new players more than they'd find out by reading the quest text and talking to their trainer.
If you want to post a meaningful guide for levelers check out what was done in the Lichborne articles. And please mix it up with some higher end content - PvP, PvE, Achievements, Dailies, whatever. Something that is meaningful.

This is a good way to identify jerks not to pug with again. If they keep all the shards for themselves or refuse to help out the group by de'ing, simply don't pug with them again.
I'm a disenchanter and it's just selfishness to refuse to de for other people in the run. It costs you absolutely nothing. Just like you're de'ing the blues that you win, de the blues for other people - only difference is they're bop instead of doing it through trade with boe items.
In the long run it HELPS you if they post their shards on the AH -> more supply = lower prices. And again it doesn't cost the enchanter a single thing.
Just don't be a selfish jerk.

As a raid leader I'm extremely hesitant to take a Discipline priest over a Holy priest. This is based on having a disc priest alt and a main raider that I have taken to all current content as disc.
Discipline is suffering from a number of bugs right now that really hurt their intended function (like the shielding bug on bear tanks and divine aegis just not working at all).
For single target healing I'd rather have a pally and for raid healing I'd rather have a holy priest, shaman, or druid. So that doesn't really leave them much of a niche to fill. I expect priests in general to be versatile either raid healing or tank healing and disc just aren't very good at either.
The biggest factor is the sheer lack of healing output. A holy priest can out heal them by two or three times even including damage mitigated through their shields (+15% on crits - rather than the stated +30% to total number). That might work right now because raids are very easy, but when harder content comes along there will be no slots for sub par non-raiding specs.

I love it how this must be nerfed because a mage was able to solo an elite. Like there aren't a ton of other classes that can solo multiple elites of their own level or higher. Death Knights are soloing Onyxia for heaven sake. It really should be okay that once every 3 minutes a mage is even to half the other classes in the game.

Gotta bump - http://www.mmoguildsites.com/
Great guild portal site, tons of functionality, easy to use. Their customer support has been fantastic - they've taken great action to implement features based on customer feedback (specific DKP tool integration, embedded videos, custom guild member awards, more multi-language options, etc).
Just a great site (very affordable too).

Don't forget PvE nerfs to Fear Ward, Chastise, and Escape Artist due to PvP Arenas.
And I'm not even going to get into the massive impact welfare epics have had on the PvE environment (the carrot that blizzard dangles to get people into the arena at all).

This also says nothing about the problem prot warriors have in terms of getting more than one into a raid. Really no reason to have more than one prot warrior raiding - the vast majority of the time a hybrid would be better so they can do something in those single tank fights (or after their target is down).
If you've got extra prot warriors in the raid you're carrying dead weight. Raid encounter are much easier with the extra dps or healing a druid or pally could bring when not tanking.
